About the Role

Woodside has been part of the Pilbara for more than four decades, and the City of Karratha is at the heart of our Australian operations. Our Karratha Corporate Affairs team lives and works in the community – we know the people, the places and the issues that matter, and we bring that local insight to the way Woodside operates in the region.

We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to head up Corporate Affairs across our Karratha operations. As Manager Corporate Affairs North West, you will help protect and enhance Woodside's social licence to operate and manage a team delivering stakeholder engagement, social performance, communications, issues management and social investment.

This is a permanent, Karratha-based position offering the chance to make a real difference in a region with a strong sense of community and a unique coastal lifestyle. The successful candidate will be required to relocate to Karratha on appointment (if not already a resident).

Duties and Responsibilities

Leading a close-knit, multidisciplinary team, you will:

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the North West Corporate Affairs team, fostering a collaborative, safe and inclusive workplace where people can do their best work.
  • Develop and deliver integrated stakeholder engagement strategies for Karratha and Roebourne that support Woodside's regional priorities.
  • Provide trusted counsel to senior leaders on stakeholder, reputation and social performance risks and opportunities, and help navigate complex external issues and relationships.
  • Lead engagement with local government, community organisations, industry bodies and government agencies, and work closely with Woodside's Indigenous engagement specialists to build respectful, enduring relationships with Traditional Owners.
  • Oversee local socioeconomic studies, social performance plans and impact management commitments. Lead the North West social investment strategy and partnerships and report on outcomes against business objectives and community expectations.
  • Lead regional communication strategies that keep the community informed about our operations, projects and local initiatives, working with Woodside's broader communications and media teams to ensure clear, consistent messaging.
  • Monitor and manage community, stakeholder and reputation issues, support emergency and crisis response, and maintain robust governance, grievance management and risk mitigation processes.
  • Work collaboratively across business to deliver integrated outcome and meet regulatory and community reporting obligations.

Skills and Experience

You are a collaborative and influential leader who builds genuine, trusted relationships. You bring significant experience in corporate affairs, stakeholder engagement, social performance, communications or public affairs – ideally within resources, energy, infrastructure or another complex, regulated industry.

You will also have:

  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong experience working with government, communities, Traditional Owners and industry stakeholders.
  • Proven capability in community relations, social performance and reputation management.
  • Experience managing complex stakeholder issues in operational or project environments.
  • Experience supporting crisis, emergency or issues management activities.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong judgement and the ability to work independently and effectively in dynamic, complex environments.
  • A proactive, strategic approach to protecting and strengthening social licence to operate.

If you are ready to lead a high-performing, community-minded team and help shape Woodside's relationships, reputation and social performance across the North West, we would love to hear from you.
