About the Role

 

The Culture & Inclusion Lead is responsible for ensuring that culture, inclusion, and the behaviours that drive Our Values are embedded in the systems and frameworks of the organisation, the behaviours we cultivate, and the capability we develop across Woodside.

 

The role leads a team of senior advisors responsible for measuring organisational culture, shaping enterprise culture priorities, and embedding behaviours that support strategy execution through the systems, symbols, and behaviours of the organisation. 

 

Along with cultural health, this role provides strategic direction and support to the people and processes that drive inclusivity and fairness in Woodside to elevate business performance.  This includes the work to ensure our workforce is representative of the communities in which we operate.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head Organisational Effectiveness, the HR Culture and Inclusion lead will be responsible for:

Culture Stewardship

  • Analyse, Diagnose, and Design cultural focus for the organisation
  • Ownership and guidance of 5-year culture strategy
  • Drive culture through decision making frameworks of the organisation, communication and narrative, work and workforce design, leadership capabilities 
  • Embed cultural focus into the foundations of the organisation for sustainability

Inclusion Expert & Advocate

  • Maintain enterprise insight into evolving inclusion expectations, regulation, benchmarks, and leading practice
  • Design and support the structures that reinforce inclusion throughout the organisation
  • Cultivate, maintain, and optimise partnerships across external groups

Change Management Effectiveness

  • Shape the organisation’s approach to workforce change
  • Support transparent, consistent communications
  • Partner with stakeholders to maintain trust and social licence

Enterprise Leadership

  • Work to integrate and drive holistic efforts and outcomes across both HR and non-HR stakeholders
  • Lead a team of talented subject matter experts to produce their best work, grow their careers, and thrive in a culture that is inclusive and psychologically safe


This position will also perform a wide variety of duties which include but are not limited to project management, project implementation, analytical reporting, high-level communications, and other general support for all global culture and inclusion initiatives.

Skills and Experience

 

This is a senior role within the Woodside HR team structure. Accordingly, we are looking for someone who is qualified in HR, Psychology or similar field through either a degree or commensurate experience, and who has experience operating at a senior capacity within the HR field. Candidates should be able to detail their experience in successfully influencing and guiding senior leaders on strategic initiatives.  


The ideal candidate will have invested in their personal and professional development to ensure their subject matter expertise is current and competitive.

This role will be dependent on a foundation of strong interpersonal interactions resulting from the ability to build high-trust relationships with a range of stakeholders.  
 

Enterprise & Technical

  • Deep understanding of organisational culture and behaviour 
  • Experience embedding behavioural expectations into operating models 
  • Understanding of workforce transformation, including AI and organisational change 
  • Ability to translate strategy into behavioural and cultural outcomes 
  • Data-driven approach to measuring culture and performance

 

Leadership & Influence

  • Ability to influence senior leaders (CEO-2 level) without formal authority 
  • Strong facilitation of complex and sensitive conversations 
  • Ability to balance organisational performance with workforce experience 
  • Exposure to working with stakeholders in global locations and understanding the importance of respecting different cultural norms and expectations when developing strategies and frameworks.
  • Track record of building high trust relationships based on the delivery of quality outcomes.
