About the Role

This role will provide engineering leadership for the local Trion operations engineering team and directly manage the process and metering engineering deliverables.  In addition, the role will be responsible for in-country execution projects spanning across  temporary flowback equipment, shore base chemical management, shore base waste management, office construction and other ad-hoc activities. The role must project manage across internal stakeholders and external service vendors (contractors) to ensure practical workflows and timely delivery of project requirements. The work requires effective planning, communication and proactive engagement; and is best suited for an individual with onshore and offshore experience implementing on-site work plans and a proven track record overseeing the safe execution of operational workflows and / or construction activities.  This role will initially report to the Startup Lead and transition to the Surface Engineering Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

Engineering Leadership

Input into engineering transition plan from projects to operations and subsequent recruiting of local process, metering, and flow assurance engineering roles.
Facilitate local engineering team competency and development plans to ensure technical capabilities and adherence to company requirements.
Provide leadership, direction, and technical oversight to the local Trion Operations Engineering team.
Manage and coordinate process engineering and metering engineering activities required to support Operations Readiness. 
Lead in-country readiness for flow assurance objectives with support from technical authority.
Ensure engineering deliverables are aligned with project objectives, operating philosophies, regulatory requirements, and company standards.
Support development of operating strategies, procedures, and readiness plans for facility startup and steady state operations.
Lead multidisciplinary engineering reviews, risk assessments, and technical studies.
Facilitate engineering decision-making and resolution of technical issues impacting readiness and execution schedules.
Ensure management of change (MoC) requirements are appropriately applied and documented.

 

Project Delivery & Contractor Assurance 

Coordinate and support contractor development of work packs, operational test procedure, and execute implementation of required temporary offshore flowback equipment (e.g. well testing and water polishing kits) pre-mobilization inspections, mobilization, backloading, installation, commissioning, and post job removal of equipment 
Coordinate and support contractor development of workflows, procedures, and scope of works required to ensure chemical product inventory, storage, and transport to offshore facilities in a timely manner (including logistics, QAQC, and general handling of products). 
Project contracting support for engineering requirements: Develop contracting strategy, scope of works, and participate in evaluation and award process 

Travel 

Requires relocating to Tampico, MX 
Expect regional business trips in Mexico and to Houston, Texas
Attend regular site visits at company or contractor fabrication yards, warehouse, and / or shore base. 

Other 

Progress other one-off special projects as they become available. 

 

Duration of Assignment: Permanent

 

Proficiency in English and Spanish is required

Skills and Experience

Qualifications:

10+ years of experience in operations. 
Bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or a related field.
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Mexican National or Mexican Permanent Residency Established.
Proven experience in supporting offshore operations, preferably in a similar role.
Problem solving abilities and adaptable in a dynamic project environment.
Strong knowledge of offshore production systems, process control, and safety protocols.
Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for offshore facilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Thorough experience of the application of SAP and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and 365)
