About the Role
In this role, you will provide specialist advice to the business on environmental risks and potential impacts, while supporting the delivery of regulatory approvals and developing industry-leading positions to complex regulatory challenges.You will also play a key part in coordinating the development, assessment and acceptance of Environment Plans and Offshore Project Proposals to support a range of business activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide clear, practical advice on emerging environmental regulations and how they may influence business activities.
- Develop and deliver environmental approval strategies that support operations, seismic, drilling, construction, commissioning and decommissioning activities.
- Shape industry‑leading approaches to complex regulatory challenges, including meaningful engagement with relevant persons and effective management of indirect impacts.
- Lead the development of Environment Plans and Offshore Project Proposals, working closely with our environmental services panel and specialist consultancies.
- Collaborate across project teams, hydrocarbon spill preparedness, corporate affairs and legal to coordinate multidisciplinary inputs and reviews.
- Build strong working relationships with external stakeholders, including NOPSEMA, DMPE and other titleholders.
- Support continuous improvement of environmental management practices in alignment with our HSE vision to deliver sustainable delivery of our projects and operations.
Skills and Experience
- Understanding and experience with Australian environment legislation and application
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Managing changing initiatives in line with local cultural, social and regulatory conditions.
- Ability to manage competing priorities
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Physical Sciences, Engineering, Risk Management or a relevant degree
- A perspective and understanding of oil and gas projects
