About the Role
The Field Operator provides basic operational support to the safe and efficient operation of the facility. This role is responsible for executing maintenance activities and operating production systems and utilities safely, efficiently and without environmental impact.
Duties and Responsibilities
Project Activities
- Participate in and provide process input to formal safety assessments and design reviews.
- Participate as a member of the hook up and commissioning team and the start-up team during initial operations.
- Participate in the process of developing maintenance tasks, operations procedures, and other work instructions. Verify compliance by facility personnel and service providers.
- Give operational inputs during different stages of the project.
HSE Accountabilities
- Ensure all activities are performed safely, within relevant regulatory and company requirements, and in accordance with HSE standards.
- Ensure company and 3rd party compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements as well as all Woodside HSE and operational standards, policies and practices.
- Participate in safety-related drills and exercises; lead facility HSE meetings as required.
- Perform work according to permit-to-work procedures.
- Always ensure the safety of personnel and integrity of facilities. This includes simultaneous operations, emergency response, and training exercises.
- Comply and oversee the compliance with permit‐to‐work and lock‐out/tag‐out procedures.
- Always maintain safety standards and follow emergency procedures.
- Verify safe control and isolation to enable access to mechanical systems and equipment.
- Conduct inspections in accordance with facility management systems.
Operations Phase – Deliver the Base
- Support and execute production operations activities set by the Team Lead.
- Collaborate with others to optimize day-to-day operational activities.
- Operate, monitor, and maintain process equipment and associated systems.
- Support the shutdown and isolation of process equipment for maintenance activities.
- Operate and monitor the performance of all plant and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Maintain order and cleanliness of the platform.
- Participate and witness, the testing of safety equipment.
- Perform minor maintenance tasks.
- Gather operating data and assist with preparing reports as required.
- Generate detailed records and assist with the transfer of information between work crews.
- Sample and test process and utility fluids handling hazardous materials in accordance with HSE standards.
- Monitor well performance and production rates.
- Handle and use process chemicals and consumables in accordance with Safety Data Sheet.
- Monitor and maintain process parameters as per operating requirements within design limits.
- Report fails, findings, or performance deviation in process equipment and associated systems.

Skills and Experience

- Citizenship: Mexican Citizen
- Visa Requirements: B1/B2 USA Visa required
- Education: University Degree or Trade Certificate required
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years in oil & gas production operations
- Communication Skills: Proficient in written communication
- Computer Skills: Proficient computer skills relevant to job responsibilities
- Technical Knowledge: Pumps, compressors, cranes, dehydration systems, separation systems, control systems, chemical systems, and firefighting systems
Proficiency in English is preferred
