About the Role
This role is responsible for shaping and supporting Woodside’s global mobility program to enable the compliant, efficient and practical deployment of talent across jurisdictions. The role combines policy, governance, process design and stakeholder advisory responsibilities, with a strong focus on risk management, employee experience and scalable delivery.
Position Purpose
The Senior Global Mobility Advisor is responsible for the design, governance and continuous improvement of Woodside’s global mobility frameworks and processes. The role ensures mobility activity is supported by practical policy, effective controls, strong vendor oversight and coordinated stakeholder engagement to enable compliant and scalable global workforce deployment. Across all work fronts, you will identify opportunities for automation, simplification and improved employee experience.
Mobility Strategy, Policy & Governance
- Development and evolution of global mobility strategy, policies, and frameworks
- Ensure policies are practical, enforceable, and aligned to regulatory requirements (including tax and immigration) and internal controls
- Establish and maintain robust governance, approval pathways, and exception frameworks
- Embed clear accountabilities and control points across the mobility lifecycle
- Provide trusted advice to senior stakeholders on complex, high-risk mobility scenarios
Duties and Responsibilities
Compliance, Controls & Process Design
Designs and implements end-to-end mobility processes that embed compliance by design, leveraging and enhancing existing technology solutions. Defines and documents key controls across mobility activities, ensures processes are audit-ready, with accurate documentation, traceability, and clear ownership. Partner with Corporate Tax, Payroll, Legal, Company Secretariat, and external vendors to support effective mobility outcomes.
Systems, Data & Mobility Enablement
Supports the design and continuous improvement of system-enabled mobility processes. You will partner with HR Systems and other relevant teams to embed mobility requirements into technology solutions and workflows, promote data integrity, process consistency, and reporting capability across mobility activities. The role supports the testing, implementation, and continuous improvement of mobility-related system and process changes, and identifies opportunities for automation, simplification, and an improved employee experience.
New Country Entry & Global Expansion
Lead mobility input into new country entry and expansion activities, and designs controlled, scalable mobilisation frameworks. Ensures the early identification and management of compliance risks, and provides practical technical advice to support business decisions on mobility risks, constraints, and implementation options in new and expanding jurisdictions.
Vendor Strategy & Partnership Excellence
Manage day-to-day performance of mobility vendors across tax, immigration, international payroll, relocation, and related services. Apply technical judgement to review advice, challenge assumptions, and ensure vendor services align with Woodside requirements, builds strategic partnerships with key providers, and oversee SLAs, KPIs, and control requirements.
Project & Transformation Leadership
Lead strategic mobility initiatives, from design through to change management, in collaboration with Reward Centre of Excellence, HR Business Partners, vendors, and HR Systems team. In this role you will drive process standardisation and control uplift, manage risks and stakeholder alignment
Stakeholder Advisory & Operational Support
Act as a trusted advisor to HR and business stakeholders on the application of mobility policy and frameworks. Provide guidance on complex mobility scenarios, exceptions and risk-based decision making, support resolution of escalated mobility issues in partnership with internal stakeholders and external providers, and translate technical mobility requirements into practical and commercially workable outcomes
Skills and Experience
Technical Capabilities & Experience
- Extensive global mobility experience in a complex, multi-jurisdictional environment
- Deep expertise in mobility policy, governance and exception framework design
- Background in international tax, and significant exposure to global immigration, payroll and employment law interfaces
- Experience supporting new country entry, mobilisation programs and complex cross-border workforce deployment
- Strong vendor governance and service management capability
