About the Role
Woodside is currently seeking an LNG Originator to join our Marketing and Trading Division based in Singapore.
In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and executing LNG supply and trading opportunities. You will play a crucial role in establishing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, negotiating contracts, and managing the end-to-end process of LNG origination, including market analysis and deal structuring. Reporting to the General Manager - LNG Marketing, you will work closely with external partners and internal teams and country offices to ensure successful implementation of LNG origination strategies.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Deal origination – Identify and assess LNG sale, supply and trading opportunities, including long term contracts and portfolio optimisation strategies. Develop and maintain network of potential LNG suppliers and buyers to facilitate deal origination.
- Negotiation and Contracting – Lead negotiations with suppliers, buyers and intermediaries to secure favourable terms and conditions for LNG transactions. Draft contracts, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory and commercial requirements.
- Relationship Management –maintain and cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, including LNG suppliers, end use and portfolio buyers and traders. Collaborate with internal teams such as analytics, legal, finance and operations, to ensure smooth execution of LNG transactions.
- Reporting and Documentation – Prepare periodic reports, presentations.
Skills and Experience
- Relevant tertiary degree in a commercial, business, finance or related discipline.
- Proven experience (7+ years) in LNG marketing, origination or related energy markets in Asia Pacific.
- Strong understanding of global LNG market dynamics, including supply chain, pricing mechanisms and commodity exposure management and contractual arrangements.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to conduct comprehensive market analysis and financial evaluations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of international regulations, shipping logistics and legal frameworks governing LNG trade.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Self motivated and adaptable to a fast paced and dynamic work environment.
