About the Role:
A highly motivated Reservoir Engineer is needed to support the Trinidad base assets. The Trinidad assets are experiencing an exciting period of activity with the execution of it first phase of Produce the Limit opportunities that have extended end of field life. This role will be critical in executing that strategy and leading various stakeholders through the next phase of idea generation. The incumbent will possess sound understanding of fundamental reservoir engineering principles to apply across key activities including reservoir surveillance, production forecasting and reserves estimation. The Reservoir Engineer will also be responsible for dynamic simulation model updates from production and well data, supporting subsurface evaluation for growth options, leading joint venture TCMs, and general asset strategy.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead efforts on dynamic modelling updates, including collaboration with production engineers for efficient incorporation of key events and production data
- Coordinate subsurface evaluation and uncertainty management of Produce the Limit opportunities, including compression, wells and intervention campaigns
- Coordinate and participate in joint venture technical meetings and engagements
- Lead corporate reserves engagements and resource estimate updates working closely with the asset team, including all SMOG compliance activities
- Contribute to the medium and long term production forecasting for internal and external requirements
- Reservoir surveillance and production optimization as well as supporting well integrity workstreams
- Maintain positive relationships with partners and the Ministry of Trinidad via regular engagements, including audits and other regulatory submissions
Skills & Experience:
- Strong reservoir engineering background with experience in dynamic modelling and subsurface uncertainty management
- Minimum degree qualification in an Engineering discipline (Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical)
- 7+ years’ experience in engineering role within the upstream oil and gas industry
- Integrating multi-disciplinary subsurface data (production, pressure transient, interference testing, fluids data, etc.) from wells and field to refine reservoir uncertainty understanding
- Working experience with late life assets is a plus
- Proven practical application of dynamic modelling skill set in a complex reservoir setting
- Excellent collaboration skills and integrator of information and analysis across subsurface and surface disciplines
