About the Role
The position presents an exceptional opportunity for a lawyer to join the legal team of one of Australia's leading listed companies.
Working within the Perth-based legal team, you would provide internal legal support for a range of topics including environment, health and safety and regulatory approvals. You would also provide legal support in relation to disputes and contentious matters.
We are interested in hearing from lawyers with experience in one or more of these areas. Experience in all areas is not required.
Please note this role is offered as a 12 month Parental Leave coverage.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide commercial-focussed, pragmatic legal advice and assistance to relevant stakeholder groups who manage environment, health and safety and regulatory approvals.
- Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with environment, health and safety and regulatory approvals.
- Assist the company to manage disputes, litigation and other contentious matters.
- Provide general corporate and commercial legal advice.
We are interested in hearing from lawyers with the core skills and experience set out below.
Skills and Experience
- Admitted as a lawyer to practise in an Australian jurisdiction. Please clearly state in your application the year and jurisdiction in which you were admitted.
- Appropriately qualified with relevant tertiary qualifications (law degree) with relevant professional experience. Experience in one or more of the above areas is preferable.
- Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated with strong organisational and prioritisation abilities.
- Negotiation and influencing skills, including confident interaction with senior-level stakeholders.
- Ability to build and foster positive relationships and networks.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
