About the Role

 

Responsible for implementing and managing hydrocarbon sales and purchase contracts, to ensure that Woodside’s exposures and value leakage are mitigated, commercial value and operational flexibility are maximised and all contractual obligations are met.

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Manage the pipeline gas operations interface from trade inception to completion between Seller; Operator; and Customer under the terms of the relevant gas sales and purchase contracts;
  • Administrate the nominations, allocations and invoicing requirements of Woodside’s portfolio of gas sales agreements including weekend operations and outside business hours on-call when rostered on.
  • Nominate to Woodside’s producing facilities consistent with the terms of the lifting agreements and the allocations matrix.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the East Coast short term market dynamics. Contribute to the development of spot trading strategy and make spot trading decisions consistent with regulation requirement and Woodside strategy while on duty.
  • Actively optimise commercial value from gas sales by leveraging East Coast pipeline transportation portfolio (including any storage positions), contractual and scheduling flexibility, and access to spot markets, to maximise overall portfolio value while managing short term market risks and minimising impacts to customer deliveries.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with submissions and reporting requirements. Keeping up to date with market rule changes.
  • Manage operational issues and unplanned events e.g. curtailment, storage, re-scheduling, change to delivery points and/or quantities.
  • Establish and maintain constructive relationships with key stakeholders including customers, suppliers and operators.
  • Review existing and proposed agreements and advise on the operational imperatives and any risks associated with agreement terms.
  • Prepare invoicing, obtain Marketing Manager approvals as required, and submit necessary documentation and invoicing to customers;
  • Accountable for area of responsibility with regard to internal and external audits for internal accounting and process controls and for SOX controls

  • Demonstrated negotiation and personal influencing skills, high levels of cross-cultural sensitivity and the ability to command the respect of professionals from a diverse range of disciplines.
  • Accuracy, organisational skills (timeliness/planning), thoroughness, clear communication, honesty and trustworthiness.
  • Flexibility and a willingness to be involved in a range of tasks outside of the immediate job description and varying workload demands, regularly after normal business hours.
  • Able to manage a number of tasks of competing priority to meet deadlines with the minimum supervision.
  • Commercial and technical acumen and numerical competence.
  • Degree qualification is desirable.
  • Experience in Contracts Management, Finance, Production, or the like.
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry and experience a large joint venture project is a distinct advantage.
