About the Role:
Woodside Energy are seeking a Marketing & Trading Senior Analyst, to join our Perth based team to provide qualitative and quantitative analysis to support decision making within Marketing and Trading team as well as support the Decision Analysis and Evaluation team on an ad-hoc basis.
This is a great opportunity to gain exposure across LNG, oil, Australian domestic gas with some opportunities in new energy as well.
In this role, you will be given the opportunity to be a thought leader and work with minimal supervision interacting with various parts of the business independently to provide analytical insights, maintain and develop models, deliver thought leadership, and input into Marketing and Trading and strategy at Woodside.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead development and maintenance of information and databases on Woodside’s overall Portfolio, LNG Contracts and Shipping Fleet
- Lead development and maintenance of large discounted cashflow valuation models for existing assets, potential investment opportunities and pricing analysis
- Analyse pricing and contracting trends and demand/supply dynamics to inform business decisions
- Present results to a range of audiences including executive level
- Provide detailed assurance for other analysts in the team and cross-functional teams
- Provide analytical upskilling and ongoing training to junior analysts
- Be a focal point for key Marketing and Trading inputs for other areas of the business
- Keep up to date with market trends and events and readily communicate this to the business
- Be responsible for adhering to relevant internal and external reporting needs
- Be prepared to support adhoc work as required by the business
Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) preferably in a quantitative subject such as finance, business, mathematics, economics
- 7+ years in similar role in the oil and gas industry
- Solid understanding of the global LNG market; oil market; and wider energy market dynamics
- Solid understanding of the LNG value chain
- Experienced in managing and/or mentoring analysts
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision to deliver outputs at a high standard (Executive level)
- Highly analytical, with a strong attention to detail
- Excellent Excel skills with significant modelling experience including new build models and best practice modelling
- Excellent written and presentation skills
- Critical thinking: Ability to objectively analyse a wide range of data and information to solve problems and form conclusions based on analysis
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment, supporting multiple projects simultaneously and delivering to deadlines
