About the Role:

The Mechanical / Piping Engineer plays a critical role in assuring the design of the Louisiana LNG facility (LALNG) supports  safe, effective, and efficient operations.

The role will ensure mechanical / piping systems for the Louisiana LNG facility are design to be functional and operable; representing LALNG Operations requirements, providing checks and balances on mechanical and piping design and implementation.   Responsibilities will also include providing commissioning support, safeguarding assurance, quality management support and ensuring all technical elements are managed effectively.

Duties & Responsibilities:

HSEQ​

  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all process control design elements meet or exceed safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices.​
  • Process Safety Compliance: Support process safety management programs, including HAZOP studies and PHAs.​
  • Regulatory Compliance: Support compliance with all regulatory requirements related to LNG production.​
  • Support the develop and implementation of integrity management plans for LNG infrastructure, including corrosion prevention, maintenance schedules, and inspection programs c/w the Integrity Engineer​

 

Leadership​

  • Serve as the piping specialist for LALNG - providing mentorship, training, and guidance to team members.​
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify and address technical issues bot in project execute phase and in operate phase.​
  • Provide technical leadership and represent the organization in interactions with regulatory authorities; support securing necessary permits and approvals.​
  • Develop and maintain constructive relationship between EPC and Client || home office and construction site​

 

Key Accountabilities​

  • Oversee the design, construction, testing and commissioning of mechanical / piping systems, ensuring adherence to industry codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.​
  • Perform stress analysis, simulations, and inspections to validate designs and assure engineering outcomes​
  • Act is the primary interface between EPC and Client for the Piping discipline​
  • Support the develop and implement integrity management plans, including corrosion prevention, maintenance schedules, and inspection programs.​
  • Validate static equipment inspection plans for the project phase, including sign-off on readiness and technical compliance.​
  • Contribute to weekly engineering reports and provide input on surveyor deliverables, site fit-ups, and interface issues.​

Technical​

  • Perform stress analysis, finite element analysis (FEA), and fluid flow simulations to validate designs and predict pipeline behaviour.​
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings (e.g., P&IDs, PFDs, isometrics, and structural drawings) and provide technical solutions for challenges.​
  • Ensure pneumatic test pack validations and exclusion zone calculations meet safety and design standards.​
  • Support systems completion and commissioning activities for LNG liquefaction facilities.​
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and anomalies, developing solutions to ensure continuous operations for LNG facilities.

Must Haves:

Skills & Experience

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong knowledge of LNG or related petrochemical production processes, equipment, and mechanical / piping systems.
  • Experience in stress analysis software and modeling (Cesar, Ansys, etc)
  • Proficient with technical codes and standards (CFR 193/192, ASME B31.3, API 610, ASME BPVC, etc)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and troubleshoot mechanical systems.
  • Expertise in heat exchangers, piping, and static equipment.
  • Experience participating in HAZOP studies, PHAs, and managing process safety programs.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the design, implementation, and maintenance of process control systems.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex process issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills for interfacing with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment; skilled in prioritizing tasks, influencing others, and providing expert guidance.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or another relevant technical field is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in an engineering capacity required
  • Experience in LNG liquefaction facilities c/w execution and commissioning experience is preferred.
  • Professional Engineering License or equivalent license/accreditation preferred
