About the Role:

As a trusted subject matter expert, Woodside’s Corporate Aviation Advisor provides expert technical guidance and leadership for all aviation activities supporting the Production, Project and Development divisions; and ensuring aviation facilities on Woodside assets meet aviation performance standards throughout their Lifecyle. Your ability to influence and collaborate at all levels, coupled with a continuous improvement mindset and safety focus will see your career at Woodside fly high.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Approve or concur with Technical Integrity changes and deviations relevant to discipline in accordance with Process Safety Management process
  • As custodian, maintain and approve Aviation procedures and guidelines and approve deviations as appropriate
  • Oversight Woodside’s aviation & travel related risks to ensure appropriate mitigations and controls are in place and effective at all time
  • Provide advice on the use of aviation services and helicopter facility design
  • Work with discipline group to ensure a consistent use of technical standards and sharing best practices
  • Own and maintain relevant discipline Performance Standards
  • Conduct Aviation Assurance activities
  • Distribute ‘lessons learned’ from incidents to relevant facility and projects
  • Approve appointment of Technical Authority alternates with concurrence from the Vice President of Logistics
  • Be part of the Aviation and Logistics emergency and crisis response team

Skills & Experience:

  • Highly developed knowledge of Australian and international offshore aviation operations enabling timely technical analysis and leadership of issues
  • Highly developed knowledge of offshore helicopter operations, regulations and guidance; NOPSEMA, IOGP, CAP 437/CAAP 92-4
  • Highly developed knowledge of National and International Aviation regulations; ICAO, CASA, JAR/EASA/FAA
  • Knowledge of HLO competencies
  • Knowledge of engineering practices
  • Experience working with ISO9001, AS9100 quality auditing principles
  • Prior experience within logistics and supply chain especially within the oil and gas and/or resources industry
  • Previous experience within the aviation industry with a focus on offshore operations as a commercial or air transport rated helicopter pilot and/or licenced aircraft maintenance engineer
  • Member of, or qualified to be eligible, to become a member of the Institute of Engineers Australia is desirable
