About the Role:

We are currently seeking expressions of interest from data engineers to join our ranks for Woodsides’ dynamic transformation journey. Working from our Perth-based, state-of-the-art office, you will contribute to the Woodsides ops transformation success by driving strategic outcomes and technical direction of the enterprise data solutions and technologies. These roles are key in delivering business data solutions and shaping enterprise data
architecture, platform evolution and innovation, data services design and data technology roadmaps.

Duties & Responsibilities:

•    Responsible for providing technical input to Woodside’s data strategies, delivery processes and associated technologies.
•    Responsible for planning, organising and managing business engagements and the delivery of business data solution outcomes.
•    Responsible for providing leadership and guidance to coach, inspire team members and other Digital peers on data solutions and technologies.
•    To lead technical resources in the data technology team to ensure excellence in design, delivery and support of data solutions and technologies.
•    To work closely with the Data Technology Delivery Manager and Data Technology Infrastructure Manager to manage delivery risks and identify opportunities for improvement.
•    Work closely with the Strategic Technology Managers, Strategic Technology Consultants, and Digital service teams to plan and deliver business data initiatives within agreed timeframes and budget.
•    Responsible for working in partnership with the Chief Data Officer to support and enable Digital’s data strategy, data governance and corporate data priorities.
•    Responsible for working in collaboration with Data and Cybersecurity Architects, Data Scientists, Data Visualisation team and other Digital service teams to deliver data solutions and technologies consistent with the Data Technology vision and roadmaps.
•    Foster and develop external relationships with data technology vendors and services providers.

Skills & Experience:

•    Demonstrated skills in data technologies including Structured Query Language (SQL), Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), Apache Spark and Python. 
•    Detailed knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud, specifically Lambda, IAM, S3 & CloudWatch. 
•    Programming skills in .NET, Java, R, Py, Angular, React, etc. 
•    Functional knowledge in the processes associated with deploying these services as part of a Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) stack. 
•    Project management skills required to independently complete a data project within agreed timelines. 
•    Use of ETL & CDC toolsets for data ingestion & transformation. 
•    Ability to Project Manage/co-ordinate technical projects 
•    Ability to author & design complex scopes of work of an Enterprise quality. Understand and be accountable for impact of decisions made. 
•    Ability to lead teams in a global context (onshore and offshore). 
•    Idealy 7+ years’ experience in a similar data role (Data Pipeline Developer or Data Engineer). 
•    Minimum 5 years’ experience with cloud technologies. 
•    Prior experience in the oil and gas industry and/or resources sector. 
•    Working in Agile teams utilizing various execution techniques such as design thinking, design research and scrum project execution. 
•    Demonstrated technical expertise with AWS and Azure infrastructure, patterns, account management, connectivity, etc. 
•    Experience interacting with business users and working in operational support environments
