About the Role:

As a Senior Contracting and Procurement Adviser, you will be instrumental in the development, execution and contract management of strategies and plans to deliver maximum value to the function.

This is an autonomous role where you will be expected to work with minimal supervision and guidance, taking contracts through the whole lifecycle, within a busy team environment.

This position is offered on an initial 2 year contract basis, with the possibility of extension.

Duties & Responsibilities:

This is a hands-on role where you will work directly with the business to define their needs and understand drivers, put together the contracting strategy, and delivery the strategy through the pre-award, award and contract management phases.

Some of the day to day duties of this role will include:

  • Ensure contracts, purchase orders and call-offs comply with the Contracting and Procurement Procedure.
  • Prepare Category Strategies, Contracting Plans, ITT/RFQs, Authority for Contract Execution, Negotiation Plans, Tender Evaluation Plans, Contract Variations, and other approval documents associated with the contracting lifecycle.
  • Continually identify and pursue commercial and cost saving opportunities within the portfolio.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to ensure adequate representation and visibility of commercial matters.
  • Ensure contracting strategies are consistent with the approved Category Strategy.

Skills & Experience:

Woodside are in a very busy period with new major projects coming online, so this role is a fast paced, dynamic and changing environment. You will be busy from day 1, and expected to deliver to a high standard.

Ideally you will be a degree qualified professional with considerable experience delivering exceptional Contracting outcomes. Major capital project experience is preferable.

To deliver the expected outputs you will need:

  • Ability to operate independently
  • Considerable experience in managing stakeholders and understanding their drivers
  • Demonstrated experience navigating how to get things done within a large, complex organisation
  • High level of commercial acumen
  • Demonstrated history of successful negotiations with large contractors and service providers
  • Resources sector experience preferred but other background will be considered
  • Demonstrated capability across pre-award, award, and post award activities
  • Knowledge of SAP or similar system is essential
