About the Role:

Our Digital Team is currently recruiting a Senior Cloud Engineer, this role will be responsible for driving strategic outcomes and technical direction of the enterprise cloud platform. The role will be in key in advising and shaping enterprise cloud platform architecture, platform evolution and innovation, cloud application design, deployment of cloud systems and technology roadmaps.

Duties & Responsibilities:

As a cloud technical expert you will be expected to be a key input into the technical direction of the enterprise cloud platform and provide support for the Cloud Technical Lead. The Senior Cloud Engineer will be pivotal in helping us understand our cloud computing needs, be it in advising and shaping enterprise cloud platform architecture, platform evolution and innovation, cloud application design or the deployment of cloud systems and technology roadmaps.

You must also be constantly evolving your skills and capabilities as an engineer over time to continue to help deliver business outcomes.

Responsibilities include

  • Working together with the engineering team to design and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions
  • Input to enterprise cloud platform evolution, automation, uplift and security.
  • Deploying and debugging cloud initiatives as needed in accordance with best practices
  • Educating teams on the architecture and implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training as required.
  • Develop best practices for larger Cloud Engineering team.
  • Stay current with industry trends

Skills & Experience:

  • 8+ years experience in technical infrastructure roles
  • 5+ years experience in technical hands on cloud IaaS, platform architecture, design and delivery
  • 2+ years experience in DevOps environment
  • Good understanding of both on-premise and cloud infrastructure, architecture, delivery and support.
  • Demonstrated experience leading initiatives and small teams
  • Information Technology/Computer Science or related Degree at an Australian or Industry-recognised University
  • AWS Cloud Certifications
  • Additional tertiary qualifications desirable
