About the Role:
The Sarbanes-Oxley Manager will manage the implementation and annual testing of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls for Woodside Australian based processes. This is a permanent role.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support the planning and delivery of the SOX program
- Execute the SOX program including scheduling, preparing, execution, tracking and reporting.
- Conduct and work with co-sourced resources for walkthroughs, controls testing, deficiency evaluation, remediation tracking, review of workpapers and on-the-job-training of staff.
- Coordinate and control reporting of SOX progress for assigned processes in a complete, accurate and timely manner.
- Provide timely, clear and concise reports on control gaps and deficiencies with value added and compelling suggestions on how to improve business processes.
- Assess the effectiveness of control owner’s resolution of control deficiencies.
Skills & Experience:
- Technical expertise in risk / control frameworks, financial policies and procedures, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
- Knowledge in financial reporting and the interdependencies with key business processes, e.g. purchase to pay, order to cash.
- Experience working in the oil and gas industry.
- Experience working as a finance lead to drive a compliance environment.
- Experience navigating and leading in environments of new implementation, transformation, change, and disruption.
- External or internal audit exposure
- Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, systems, or related field.
- Strong analytical capabilities, process improvement and organization skills; excellent communication skills and presentation skills.
- Ability to multi-task, work independently and as part of a team whilst maintaining a positive and professional attitude
- Proficiency in Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook is required.
- Relevant professional membership/qualifications, e.g. Chartered Accountants of Australia & New Zealand, Certified Practicing Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor
- Minimum 8 years of financial and/or internal audit experience with a professional services firm
