The Sangomar field which contains both oil and gas, is located 100 kilometres south of Dakar. Work on the Sangomar Field Development commenced in early 2020 and first oil production is targeted in 2024.

About the Role:


Woodside has engaged MODEC Senegal S.A.S.U to operate and maintain the FPSO “Leopold Sedar Senghor” for the Sangomar field. The FPSO will be permanently moored and will remain on station for the duration of the operations phase. The phase 1 development consists of 24 subsea Wells comprising 12 Oil Producers, 10 Water Injectors and 2 Gas Injection Wells tied back to the FPSO via a subsea network of flowlines and associated infrastructure. 


Based Offshore on rotation, the Operations Engineer is a member of the Integrated Woodside & FPSO Contractor team responsible for supporting Company engineering, operations and assurance activities of the Operations Contractor; coordinating with the onshore based teams, acting as an offshore focal point for vulnerabilities and opportunities and developing an integrated awareness of Process, Reservoir, Wells, Subsea, Flow Assurance and Operations disciplines.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for communicating well or subsea integrity issues to respective stakeholders and act as an offshore focal point for these issues as a first line of assurance.

  • Responsible for understanding Operations Contractor management of change issues, risks and opportunities to inform on production forecasting. 

  • Responsible for supporting Company daily proactive monitoring and surveillance of reservoir, well, subsea and topside systems.

  • Responsible for providing operational insights to the onshore Production Engineering team which could affect year end outlook assumptions and short-term forecasting. 

  • Responsible for working with Company engineering teams to investigate and address operating vulnerabilities and opportunities. 

Skills & Experience:

 

  • Engineering degree or equivalent. 

  • 3+ years’ experience in the oil and gas industry is preferred.

  • Awareness of Process Safety Management.

  • Knowledge of computerised maintenance management systems, preferably SAP.

  • Ability to collaborate with a range of internal and external stakeholders with strong written, presentation and verbal communication skills.
