About the Role
Woodside is looking for a Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer to join the team for a 24-month fixed term contract. This role will work on the Karratha Gas Plant and is a Karratha residential position.
This role presents an excellent opportunity to further enhance your operational and technical engineering skills working with a wide variety of rotating equipment on one of Australia’s largest LNG processing facilities. Working in a multi-discipline team you will provide effective, fit for purpose and executable solutions to address facility risks in a prioritised manner.
Duties and Responsibilities

Provide technical input into equipment operations and maintenance on a large LNG, Domestic Gas and Condensate processing facility. Including general condition and performance monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance work planning and execution support.

Provide technical expertise into plant and equipment maintenance strategies, HAZOP / LOPA workshops and incident investigations.

Lead complex plant modifications to reduce safety, environmental, regulatory, and financial risks to ALARP.

Manage external service providers for multidiscipline projects including scope definition, budget approval, assurance reviews, and schedule tracking.

Collaborate across disciplines to deliver practical engineering solutions and support planning engineering via maintenance strategies, procedure updates, and queries.

Provide technical coaching to Junior Engineers.
Skills and Experience
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 10+ years in a technical Rotating Equipment Engineer capacity
- Experience on industrial rotating machinery including operations and maintenance support to gas turbines (heavy duty and aeroderivative), compressors (centrifugal, axial and reciprocating), fans and pumps
- 5+ years’ experience in Oil & Gas operations with LNG experience preferred
- Process Safety knowledge
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Strong understanding of management of change, risk identification & assessment.
- Strong interpersonal & communication skills.
- Strong coaching and influencing skills.
