About the Role
Join Woodside’s International and Corporate Tax team and play a key role in supporting tax advisory, compliance and risk management across our global business. Working closely with the Tax Manager – International & Corporate and other team members, you will provide technical and commercial tax support across Australian cross-border activities, international jurisdictions and entities, corporate compliance, and OECD GloBE Pillar Two impacts.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support accurate and timely direct tax compliance across Australia and international jurisdictions.
- Provide tax advisory support, including global transfer pricing, policy maintenance and engagement with external advisers.
- Support direct tax audits and disputes, working with external advisers and revenue authorities.
- Contribute to inputs and assumptions for asset commercial models and the Corporate Plan.
- Help implement and maintain direct tax systems, process documentation, and SOX compliance.
- Provide technical support for commercial agreements, contract reviews, M&A and new venture activity.
- Role-model Woodside’s safety leadership expectations and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
Skills and Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance or law, with postgraduate tax study desirable but not essential.
- Extensive tax experience (7 years plus) ideally in similar in-house tax function, large accounting or legal firm.
- Strong knowledge of Australian cross-border and international direct tax regimes, with the ability to identify and manage tax risk in commercial transactions.
- Confident stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to translate complex tax matters for non-tax audiences.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and process-improvement capability, with attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Familiarity with SOX internal controls and governance requirements.
