About the Role

Position Business Area: Louisiana LNG

Matrix Entity Supported: Gas & Marketing – LA LNG

Purpose:

Overall accountability to lead the Trading optimization of LA LNG’s portfolio while harnessing trading analysis to create full value chain 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the US Gas Trading and Optimization to provide on-time trading analysis and point-of-view to enable marketing / trading team to make the best possible economical decisions 
  • Day to day management of the schedule of LA LNG deliveries, interacting with LNG plant Operations and Shipping
  • Oversee an maintain portfolio risk position tracking and integrate with broader corporate portfolio
  • Coordinate gas flow between multiple entity structures in order to appropriately capture earnings results 

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in trading optimization and/or analysis and/or commodities blender roles
  • Possess strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • Experience with contractual terms and operational obligation, especially in the Domestic US Gas industry
  • Experience with large scale joint venture structures 
  • Proficiency with ETRM systems with focus on US natural gas trading
  • Be able to demonstrate initiative, tenacity and drive for continuous improvement.
  • Proficient with Excel formulas, pivot table functionality, and trading database applications.
  • Demonstrates inclusive, collaborative work behaviours and supports, listens, and respects the diversity and value of ideas from others.

 

Qualifications

  • 15+ years’ relevant experience working in Gas trading with a strong understanding of commodity trading, preferably in LNG markets across the US
  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Finance, Economics, or related field and understanding of financial and physical trading instruments
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.), Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint, etc.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Full understanding of and relevant experience managing risk limits withing a large portfolio
