About the Role

This role provides specialist expertise across financial risk management, markets execution and broader balance sheet activities, with a primary focus on commodity, FX and interest rate hedging and derivative instruments. The position delivers the execution, management and optimisation of the company’s hedging strategy, while also contributing to funding, liquidity and capital management activities within approved Treasury policies and delegated authorities.

Duties and Responsibilities

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

 

  • Recommend hedging strategy across various markets and commodities and provide feedback and challenge to the trading organisation
  • Execute and manage commodity, foreign exchange and interest rate hedging transactions in accordance with approved Treasury policies and risk limits
  • Monitor hedge performance, mark‑to‑market valuations, sensitivities and risk metrics, and prepare analysis for senior management and governance forums
  • Support funding and capital markets activities, including bank facilities, debt capital markets transactions and engagement with relationship banks
  • Contribute to balance sheet management activities, including interest rate risk management, liquidity analysis and cash flow forecasting
  • Liaise with banks and financial counterparties on deal execution, confirmations, pricing and market developments
  • Support Treasury governance, controls and compliance with internal policies and external requirements.

Skills and Experience

 

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following capabilities:

 

  • Strong technical knowledge of derivatives, including swaps, options and collars across commodities, FX and interest rates
  • Demonstrated experience executing and managing hedging and market risk within a corporate Treasury or financial markets environment
  • Solid understanding of balance sheet management, including interest rate risk, liquidity and funding considerations
  • Experience supporting or leading funding activities, banking facilities or debt capital markets transactions viewed favourably
  • Deep understanding of financial markets, pricing methodologies and risk management concepts Advanced analytical skills with strong attention to detail
  • High level of proficiency in Excel and financial modelling, and experience with Treasury Management Systems desirable
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly
  • Tertiary qualification in Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related discipline.
