About the Role:
To provide well engineering expertise for Woodside Drilling and Completion operational activities. Assist either the Superintendent onshore or the Well Site Leader offshore with the management of the well construction or intervention activity, including all aspects of well integrity, in accordance with the Drilling and Completion Programme.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support the Superintendent and Well Site Leader, develop knowledge and capability in operations.
- Provide input and support into the logistics planning of people and equipment.
- Inspect equipment arrival to the rig and verify it is as ordered.
- Assist the WSL with the creation of written instructions.
- Assist WSL with updating the daily reporting software.
- Prepare independent verification of calculations:
- Pipe & Casing Tally’s
- Cementing operations
- Leak Off Tests
- Liaise with engineering team to share information between office and wellsite.
- Participates in AAR’s, captures and shares Lessons Learned.
Operations & Engineering Responsibilities:
- Participates in reviews and risk assessments.
- Provide operational support during preparation of the well program.
- Assist with verification of company-approved well control policies, practices, and procedures.
- Developing an understanding of relevant approved bridging documents.
- Assists with verifying Safety & Operational Critical items:
- Fluid weights, volumes, and properties
- Well kill standing orders & kill sheet calculations
- Crew well control drills
- Trip sheets & Casing tallies
- Torque measuring equipment calibration and settings
- Pit volumes, alarms, flow meters & gas units
- Stack up & space out measurements
Health, Safety, and Environmental:
- Is aware of Woodside HSE management systems and follows instructions.
- Participates in rig safety programs including the behaviour-based reporting system.
- Ensures all HSE related incidents are reported.
Risks:
- Participates in Campaign, Well & Operational risk assessments.
- Developing an understanding of Risk Bowties & Critical controls.
Costs:
- Demonstrates financial responsibility and looks for cost saving opportunities.
- Updates daily reporting software with costs as required.
Quality Assurance:
- Provides feedback & input in NCR’s and Failure investigations.
- Captures NCR & NPT events in the reporting system for follow up.
Development:
- Drives own technical and professional development.
- Seeks out specialists and subject matter experts to improve knowledge and competency of ongoing operations including the tools & equipment in use.
Skills & Experience:
Qualifications:
- Engineering degree.
- Basic drilling, completion, and intervention technical courses.
- Developing knowledge of process safety and well control.
Experience:
- 1+ years in drilling, completions, and workover industry.
- Has gained experience with Woodside reporting software and requirements.
- Developing an understanding of the GWS engineering role in the Business Value Chain.
Duration of Assignment: Fix Term 12 Months
Proficiency in English is required
