QMI & Metering Engineer (TX, US, 77056)

About the Role

The QMI and Metering Engineering will provide discipline engineering expertise across fiscal, allocation and environmental metering and Quality Measurement Instruments (QMI). The role will initially support a major greenfield project, ensuring the contractor develops and delivers all necessary metering and QMI scope and documents to identify, specify, and manage measurements to the required performance levels through operations. The position transitions into ongoing operational stewardship as the project moves to start-up and steady-state. Initially based in Houston, this role is expected to transition to the Louisiana LNG site over time to support operational activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

HEALTH, SAFETY, ENVIRONMENT, & QUALITY

Ensure compliance with Company & Project and industry HSSE policies, standards, and regulations throughout all phases of the project lifecycle.
Ensure all design, construction, and maintenance activities comply with industry codes, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.

WORK PROCESSES & SYSTEMS

Governance, compliance & management systems
- Ensure measurement systems meet local regulatory standards and requirements, as well as contractual/commercial obligations (e.g., custody transfer, allocation, environmental reporting).
- Work within company management systems and processes, applying sound risk management and management of change.

TECHNICAL

Technical stewardship & assurance
- Own integrity and performance of fiscal, allocation and environmental metering and QMI systems, including custody transfer.
- Maintain and improve the metering & QMI management system; ensure preventive maintenance, spares, special tools and calibration facilities are defined and effectively managed.
- Execute performance monitoring (e.g., analytics), identify bad actors, and drive defect elimination and cost reduction.
- Establish metering/QMI configurations management, calculations recording and master data necessary to manage metering equipment.
Troubleshooting, investigations & interfaces
- Lead or support troubleshooting and root cause analysis; resolve mismeasurements in conjunction with Production Allocation/ Product Lifting teams.
- Coordinate interfaces across Operations, Projects, Commercial, Supply Chain and vendors to remove blockers and deliver outcomes.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Project delivery & contractor assurance
- Lead discipline oversight of the EPC contractor for metering and QMI scope, ensuring deliverables (philosophies, specifications, data sheets, drawings, packages, verification plans and procedures) meet performance, reliability and operability requirements through the asset life.
- Set acceptance criteria, review and approve contractor deliverables, raise/close punch items, and ensure alignment with project standards and operational needs.
- Work with EPC to define measurement performance requirements, uncertainty budgets, calibration and verification regimes, and lifecycle data/records management to support custody transfer and allocation.
- Provide discipline input across Assess/Select/Define/Execute stages and assure that design and vendor selections are fit-for-purpose.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Travel: Occasional travel for vendor FATs, site visits, commissioning and turnarounds.
Compliance: Perform work in line with company values, management systems and statutory obligations.

Skills and Experience

Experience & technical skills
- Strong (7+ years) experience in hydrocarbons metering and QMI across projects and/or operations; LNG and utilities experience advantageous.
- Deep understanding of analyser and flow-metering technologies (e.g., gas chromatographs, moisture/H₂S/CO₂ analyzers; ultrasonic, turbine, Coriolis, and DP/orifice/venturi meters; flow computers; sampling/conditioning systems). FAT attendance and leadership experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated competence in fiscal/allocation/environmental metering, custody transfer, uncertainty analysis, verification/calibration and performance monitoring.
- Demonstrated ability to review, challenge and approve contractor/vendor deliverables and manage acceptance to close-out.
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis capability; track record resolving integrity/production upsets.
Regulatory, standards & commercial
- Working knowledge US/local regulatory environment and applicable standards to ensure measurement systems meet statutory requirements; able to interpret and implement contractual/commercial measurement obligations.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and practices (e.g., API/ISO for metering and analyzers).

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced engineer to lead the development and operationalization of an integrated LNG feedgas forecasting, flow assurance, and optimization capability supporting Louisiana LNG.

This role sits at the intersection of natural gas transportation, LNG operations, hydraulic modeling, gas quality management, commercial optimization, and operational decision support. The successful candidate will be responsible for understanding how upstream pipeline, storage, gas quality, and commercial activities influence LNG terminal operations and developing predictive tools, models, and workflows that improve operational reliability and commercial decision making.

This position will serve as the primary technical lead supporting the evolution from reactive feedgas monitoring to predictive feedgas intelligence, enabling earlier visibility of changes in gas quality, pressure, flow, and supply reliability across the upstream transportation network. The capability is intended to support nominations, contingency planning, LNG operating decisions, and feedgas optimization.

Duties and Responsibilities

Feedgas Flow Assurance & System Optimization

Develop and maintain hydraulic and flow assurance models for interstate and intrastate natural gas transportation systems.
Perform steady-state and transient hydraulic simulations to evaluate system performance under normal and abnormal operating conditions.
Analyze the impacts of compressor outages, pipeline maintenance, storage withdrawals, receipt point disruptions, and market changes.
Support short-term and long-term gas supply planning activities through system modeling and scenario analysis.
Identify capacity constraints and develop mitigation strategies.

LNG Feedgas & Process Optimization

Analyze the impact of feedgas composition, pressure, and flow variability on LNG facility performance.
Evaluate feedgas quality trends, including nitrogen, BTU, Wobbe, CO₂, C6+, and other critical parameters.
Support LNG operating decisions through forecasting and scenario analysis.
Collaborate with LNG Operations to optimize facility performance, operating envelopes, and feedgas management strategies.
Support development of predictive capabilities for gas quality and facility performance forecasting.

Commercial & Gas Supply Planning Support

Support nomination, scheduling, and gas supply optimization activities.
Evaluate transportation, storage, and supply alternatives.
Analyze impacts of market conditions, transportation constraints, and supply interruptions.
Work closely with commercial teams, schedulers, gas controllers, and supply planners.
Support month-ahead, week-ahead, day-ahead, and intraday gas supply planning activities.

Operational Intelligence & Data Analytics

Integrate operational, commercial, SCADA, gas quality, and market data into decision-support workflows.
Analyze forecast versus actual performance to improve predictive accuracy.
Develop automated reports, dashboards, and operational intelligence tools.
Identify upstream drivers impacting LNG feedgas reliability and quality.
Communicate findings to Operations, Gas Supply, Commercial, and leadership teams.

Skills and Experience

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required, preferably in Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum, or Civil Engineering. Candidates with other engineering disciplines will also be considered where they can demonstrate relevant industry experience.
8-15+ years of experience in natural gas transmission, LNG operations, gas supply, flow assurance, or system planning.
Direct experience with interstate or intrastate natural gas transportation systems.
Experience performing hydraulic modeling and system optimization.
Experience supporting operational decision making during outages, constraints, and abnormal operating events.
Experience in natural gas transmission systems, compressor stations, gas storage facilities, gas quality analysis, flow assurance, hydraulic simulation, pressure and capacity analysis, and pipeline operations.
Experience with one or more pipeline modeling and simulation tools, such as Gregg Engineering, Synergi Gas, Pipeline Studio, SPS, Atmos SIM, BRE ProMax, or comparable hydraulic modeling platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting LNG export facilities through operations, optimization, gas supply planning, or feedgas delivery activities.
Understanding of LNG feedgas specifications, nitrogen management, gas quality impacts, LNG process fundamentals, and facility operating constraints.
Experience in gas scheduling, nominations, or commercial operations.
Knowledge of FERC-regulated pipeline operations.
Experience with SCADA, operational data systems, and data analytics platforms.

About the Role

The GOA Instrumentation & Automation Engineer provides technical support and engineering assurance for instrumentation, automation, control, safety, and associated electrical systems supporting the Shenzi facility, infield subsea flowlines, and related equipment. The role is primarily focused on Instrumentation & Automation, with electrical capability, including technical ownership of hazardous-area equipment and I&A/electrical interfaces. The position supports safe, reliable operation through technical assurance, troubleshooting, engineering changes, reliability improvement, and project execution. The position reports to the GOA Surface Engineering Manager and is based in Houston, Texas.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership and assurance for instrumentation, automation, control, safety, fire and gas, and associated systems supporting the Shenzi facility and subsea systems.
Provide technical ownership for hazardous-area equipment and installations, including equipment selection, certification, installation, inspection, maintenance interfaces, and resolution of technical issues.
Troubleshoot issues across instrumentation, PLC/DCS/HMI, safety systems, communications, metering, field devices, and electrical interfaces, working closely with Operations, Maintenance, vendors, and other engineering disciplines.
Apply electrical engineering experience to power supplies, UPS/DC systems, motor control, drives, grounding, and electrical distribution.
Provide technical support and assurance for production, allocation, and fiscal measurement systems and associated projects.
Serve as System Custodian for designated Safety Critical Systems and support critical control assurance, health monitoring, and lifecycle management.
Lead or participate in Root Cause Analyses, reliability improvement, abnormal operating condition assessments, and Case to Operate activities.
Review and implement engineering and maintenance changes in accordance with Management of Change requirements.
Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, SIL, functional safety, commissioning, and start-up activities.

Skills and Experience

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
Approximately 10+ years of relevant industry experience in oil and gas, energy, petrochemical, or comparable process industries.
Strong instrumentation, automation, and controls capability, supported by practical electrical engineering experience in operating facilities.
Proven experience across design, construction, factory and site acceptance testing, commissioning, start-up, operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability improvement.
Combination of operating-asset and project experience is preferred.
Ability to solve complex, cross-discipline problems and understand interfaces among process equipment, instrumentation, control and safety systems, communications networks, and electrical systems.
Demonstrated autonomy, business acumen, teamwork, influencing ability, and clear written and verbal communication.
Experience in offshore facilities and knowledge of Gulf of America regulatory requirements are preferred.

About The Role

The LNG Production Allocation & Project Lead is responsible for the development, implementation, governance, and ongoing execution of production allocation, hydrocarbon accounting, reporting, and associated business processes for LA LNG asset. About the Role

The Field Operator provides basic operational support to the safe and efficient operation of the facility. This role is responsible for executing maintenance activities and operating production systems and utilities safely, efficiently and without environmental impact.

Duties and Responsibilities

Project Activities
• Participate in and provide process input to formal safety assessments and design reviews.

About the Role

The Sales Operations Specialist ensures the proper execution of commercial contracts, with particular responsibility for understanding and recording sales and distribution activities, including system maintenance, credit review, documentation processing, invoicing, collection, and reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities

Core Accountabilities

Demonstrate and instil an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development.
Validates compliance to the supply chain management processes and captures related transactional data into the Aspect system.
Reviews and requests updates to Aspect and other Master Data as required.
Understands contractual terms/agreements, and accurately translates through system entry into required system transactions.
Understands International Chamber of Commerce Incoterms and transportation and logistics related terms.
Administer and maintain all logistic actions in systems as required, as well as process performance reporting;
Prepare invoicing, obtain Marketing Manager approvals as required, and submit necessary documentation and invoicing to customers;
Liaise and coordinate with customers, team members and commercial staff regarding allocation, loading and movements of material ensuring all requirements are satisfactory.
Monitor material movements within the logistics chain, communicate progress and any problems to relevant key stakeholders;
Accountable for area of responsibility with regard to internal and external audits for internal accounting and process controls and for SOX controls:
Monitors and coordinates Accounts Receivables/Payables for respective external counterparties.
Coordinates and optimises trade finance documentation flow with banks and customers.
Regularly reviews the credit position and contract status to minimise commercial risk (credit).
Liaise with governance team to ensure compliance with relevant laws in the various jurisdictions.
Assist in projects as required.
Provide assistance to team members where required and act as back up in their absence.

Minimum Requirements

Medium vocational education with 3-5 years' experience in logistics or Bachelors' degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain or Accounting with 1 or 2 years' experience
Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Computer literate
Fluent English, both verbal and written

Preferred Qualifications

Energy Industry experience a strong plus
