A world of opportunities for graduates

As a graduate at Woodside you'll enjoy a truly exciting range of career opportunities within a dynamic work environment. Our Graduate Development Program delivers you three years of structured development with carefully designed job rotations and activities that will broaden your career horizons. You'll learn from some of the brightest leaders in our industry.

As part of the program, our graduates have the opportunity to broaden their knowledge of our business through rotations both within their function and to other areas of the business. You will also work on projects and attend training that will build on your soft skills and business acumen.

We know that getting exposure to our operations is important to you so all graduates will attend a site visit in the first year of the program.

Our supportive culture

We help you transition from university to the workplace by providing support from buddies, mentors and leaders. You'll also enjoy the support from our graduate community, including your dedicated graduate buddy who will provide practical, day-to-day advice.

Application Process

1. Online Application

All applications are to be submitted to our online portal. Applications that are emailed will not be considered. The online application form gives you the opportunity to tell us about yourself. It is important to tell us about the different facets of your experiences to date, so remember to include any work experience, extra-curricular involvement, leadership roles and personal interests, not just your academic achievements.

Make sure you read the questions carefully so you can answer them to the best of your ability, to highlight and demonstrate the skills and competencies you can bring to our organisation.

Lastly, review your application and make sure that you have attached all the documentation that we have requested. This will help us to avoid any delays in carefully evaluating your application. You will need to attach a copy of your current resume along with a copy of your current academic transcript/statement of results to date.

Please note; at each stage of the recruitment process you will receive email notifications.  This will include the timeframe in which you can expect to hear back in relation to your application.

2. Online Abilities Test

Once you have submitted your application, you will be emailed a link to complete an online abilities and safety aptitude test. Please remember to check all junk/spam folders in case the link has been re-directed.

This test is a mandatory part of our application process and we ask you to complete it within 48 hours of receiving the link. The test typically takes 30-45 minutes, and we suggest you are in a quiet, interruption free environment with WIFI access to complete the test.

3. Interview

If you are successful in steps 1-2 an interview may be scheduled for you: This depends on the discipline you are being considered for and may be conducted via phone, video conference or face to face. This discussion will take place with one or two of our business assessors from your nominated discipline preference. The interview will typically include technical questions allowing you to demonstrate knowledge of your discipline, as well as behavioural questions so we can learn more about the experiences you have had to date. We would also encourage you to ask any questions you have about our company or the program you have applied for. Please note that a date and time will be allocated to you to complete this interview and we ask that you make yourselves available.

4. Assessment Centre

Our assessment centres are held at our head office in Perth and are approx. half a day in duration. We will invite you to schedule an assessment centre that is convenient to you where possible. At the assessment centre you will complete a variety of activities including an interview, a number of group activities and an opportunity to network with senior leaders and current graduates within our organisation. The interview component will include technical questions allowing you to demonstrate knowledge of your discipline, as well as behavioural questions so we can learn more about the experiences you have had to date. We will also request that you attend a supervised drug and alcohol screening test on completion of the assessment centre.

5. Due Diligence

Our due diligence stage may include, but is not limited to, a national criminal record check, sanctions check, academic record/qualification check and reference checking. Our due diligence process can be lengthy and take anything from up to four weeks. As a result we ask candidates that reach this stage of our selection process to keep us updated with any other offers you may receive whilst you are going through our selection process.

6. Offer

If you have been successful in steps one to six, and we would like to offer you a position on our program, a member of our Talent Acquisition Team will contact you to extend a formal offer. At this stage, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will talk through the details of your offer and answer any queries you may have. This will be followed up with a hard copy of your offer and any relevant paperwork. We hope this will be the start of a rewarding career at Woodside.
