About the Role:

 

This role is within the Digital, AI, and Strategy team, focused on driving innovation and efficiency through the application of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies. This team is responsible for identifying, developing, and deploying AI-powered solutions to address key business challenges and create new opportunities within Woodside across both corporate optimisation and process optimisation and control.​

 

Woodside is seeking a highly motivated and skilled AI Solutions Engineer to contribute to the development and implementation of intelligent automation and agent-based workflows. This role will involve working with cutting-edge AI technologies and platforms to build practical solutions that enhance operational efficiency, improve decision-making, and drive business value. This is a hands-on, technical role focused on delivering tangible outcomes.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Design, develop, and implement AI-driven solutions focusing on intelligent automation and agent-based workflows, leveraging existing AI/ML platforms and tools.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into technical requirements for AI solutions.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate AI/ML models, algorithms, and techniques to address specific business problems.
  • Develop and maintain robust, scalable, and reliable AI applications and integrations with existing Woodside systems.
  • Contribute to the development of best practices and standards for AI development and deployment within Woodside.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI/ML and related technologies, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Participate in Agile development processes and contribute to a collaborative and innovative team environment.

 

Skills & Experience:

 

  • Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field (experience or degree in process or process control engineering is advantageous).
  • Proven experience in developing and deploying AI/ML solutions, with a focus on automation and agent-based workflows.
  • Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts, algorithms, and techniques, including natural language processing, computer vision, and reinforcement learning.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and experience with relevant AI/ML libraries and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn). 
  • Experience working with cloud-based AI/ML platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and familiarity with API development and integration.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments and a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • A strong passion for AI and its potential to transform business operations, coupled with a practical, results-oriented approach.
  • Experience with transformational projects and a demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
