About the Role:

 

Woodside is currently seeking a General Manager to join the Marketing and Trading team in Perth who will oversee the Domestic Gas (west) sector.

 

As the General Manager, you will be responsible for managing and leading Woodside’s Domestic Gas Marketing business in Western Australia and will report directly to the Vice President of Australian Gas. In this role, you will oversee all aspects of domestic marketing and trading, including overseeing long-term trading, short-term trading, operations and invoicing. This position is crucial to maintaining Woodside’s position as a leading supplier in the gas market within Western Australia.

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Accountability for the strategic direction of Woodside's domestic marketing and trading activity in West Australia
  • Leading negotiation of sales and other commercial agreements with counterparties.
  • Identifying, maturing and negotiating domestic gas opportunities.
  • Progressing long term (1-5 year) gas sales to execution within Treasury and Legal controls.
  • Managing strategic and tactical direction of Western Australian pipeline gas portfolios
  • Generating value and managing risk for the portfolio.  
  • Managing day to day business, operational & settlement issues, and commercial risks.

Skills & Experience:

 

  • Tertiary qualification in economics, commercial or other relevant field
  • Ability to assume responsibility and accountability for deliveries 
  • Significant negotiation experience with complex, high value negotiations
  • Significant skill using various influence and persuasion styles to facilitate favourable outcomes
  • Analytical capability, including proficiency of financial modelling (Excel)
  • 5–10 years experience in energy markets & trading highly valued
