About the Role:
The role of HSE Coordinator (HSEC) is essentially a frontline medic. Often, they are trained nurses who can provide emergency response support if there is an incident on site, administer Drug & Alcohol screening etc.
We are seeking HSE Coordinators to work on a fixed FIFO roster to our offshore assets (FPSOs).
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Providing medical support, advice and training for the facility (or facilities)
- Being a point of contact for occupational health, safety, hygiene and environmental related issues
- Manage facility Occupational Hygiene risks, including noise, BTEX, Mercury, NORMS, Asbestos, chemicals, hazardous substances and drinking water
- Implementing, monitoring and evaluating occupational health and hygiene programmes and environmental initiatives
- Manage facility medical response, including medical treatment for all personnel onsite, Emergency Response Team Member (medic), training ERT and Medic Assists in emergency response, injury management and return to work plans, confidential wellbeing support, communicable disease management
- Being the site incident and hazard reporting system and event analysis focal point (as required by facility)
- Facilitate HSE best practices (coaching) including contractor interface, in Safety Case and Environmental Plans, Woodside Risk Matrix, regulatory compliance, HSE legislation, process safety, Human Organisation Performance (HOP) and human factors.
This is a Site / Asset based role, candidates are expected to demonstrate the below in order to be considered:
- Have completed and hold a valid Industry Safety Induction (Safer Together), or
- Be able to demonstrate 12 months O&G experience within the last 2 years, in order to be granted an 'experienced worker' exemption.
Skills & Experience:
Mandatory Certifications/ Licences / Tickets:
- Tropical Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (TBOSIET)
- Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC)
- Offshore Work PLUS Emergency Response medical (OWTER)
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent, with Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse or Paramedic with minimum 3 years critical care and/or remote area experience
- Minimum Cert IV in Occupational Health and Safety
- Current qualification in Advanced Life Support Level 1 - Immediate Life Support recognised by the Australian Resuscitation Council
- Accident and Emergency and remote area experience
- Dangerous goods awareness
- Minimum 3 years critical care and /or remote area medical speciality
- Health and Safety experience in an Oil and Gas or Industrial Care setting
- Recognised competency (Australian Standard) in Alcohol and Other Drugs sample collection
Desirable qualifications:
- Advanced Trauma Course
- Previous experience in Occupational Hygiene
- Experience in Incident Investigation
- Understanding of offshore environmental hazards
