About the Role:

We are seeking a Head of Analytics to manage market and trade analysis activity supporting global seaborne trading of LNG and Liquids (Crude, LPG, Condensate) based in Singapore.  This is a great opportunity to lead a high performing team at an exciting time in Woodside’s growth story.

 

This position reports to the SVP Global Trading and Operations and will lead a team of analysts working closely with Trading, Shipping, Operations, Finance and Middle Office teams across our key locations of Singapore, Perth, London, and Houston.

Duties & Responsibilities:

This is a dynamic and fast-paced role, where you will be supporting trading teams with detailed analysis and real-time market information. You will lead the team to deliver best in class analysis support.

 

On a day to day basis this will include:

 

  • Generate deal economics and determine exposures to support screening of trades (including optionality embedded in commodity transactions and related derivative positions)
  • Develop, validate and maintain trade valuation, risk management models
  • Verify deal entry into ETRM system, monitor P&L and exposures and communicate to the wider team
  • Portfolio Analysis and scenario modelling
  • Fundamental Analysis of Physical, Freight, and Derivative markets across commodities
  • Create and maintain data models used to support trading decision making
  • Work closely with Trading, Operations, Shipping and Middle Office teams to resolve issues and suggest process improvements
  • Collate and disseminate market intelligence to trading teams for effective decision making
  • Create reporting for internal and external distribution
  • Performance manage team members

Skills & Experience:

To be successful in this role you will need to bring the following:

 

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in a quantitative subject such as finance, mathematics, economics
  • At least 10 years of working experience in energy industry (European Gas/Power, LNG or Oil background)
  • Proven experience managing high performing teams
  • Excellent Excel skills, and advanced skills in Python, VBA, R
  • Knowledge of ETRM systems, previous experience with Aspect an advantage
  • Strong understanding of trade lifecycle for both Physical and Exchange traded markets
  • Highly analytical with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-cultural, multi-national team and handle working in a high-pressured environment
  • Strong communication skills, and ability to speak additional languages advantageous
  • You must be already based in Singapore.
