Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Mentorship and Guidance: Acting as a coach or mentor to team members, offering guidance and sharing expertise.
  • Interdepartmental Support: Providing support across departments as needed, including assistance with mechanical and electrical maintenance procedures. This flexibility ensures comprehensive coverage of the facility's operations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborating to identify and implement improvements in maintenance strategies, processes, and procedures. Team input is valuable for making informed decisions that enhance overall performance.
  • Start-Up Operations: Actively participate as a member of the hook up and commissioning team and the start-up team during start-up operations, leveraging team expertise and collaboration to ensure smooth and efficient processes.
  • Safety Leadership: Lead and participate in safety-related drills and exercises; conduct facility HSEC meetings as required.
  • Risk Management: Advocate for a risk-based approach to maintenance and operations, collaborating with technical specialists and HSEC staff to effectively manage risks.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain offshore instrumentation equipment, including process, emergency shutdown, fire and gas, metering, and telecommunication equipment, ensuring safe and reliable operation in compliance with statutory and Woodside Energy Gulf of Mexico procedures.
  • Planned Maintenance: Execute planned maintenance activities on instrumentation and automation equipment.

  • Troubleshooting Expertise: Provide specialized instrumentation and automation expertise to support troubleshooting activities.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation related to the installation, maintenance, repair, and inspection of instrumentation equipment.
  • Inspection and Testing: Conduct equipment inspections and testing, including safety-critical testing.
  • Procedure Development: Assist Offshore Planners in developing and maintaining instrumentation procedures and work instructions, ensuring compliance by facility personnel and service providers.
  • Maintenance Planning: Contribute to the planning and scheduling of maintenance activities to optimize maintenance schedules, ensuring timely and effective upkeep of equipment and systems.
  • Team Mentorship: Serve as a coach and mentor to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development to enhance team skills and performance.
  • Leadership Development: Participate in the Field Leadership Program and Process Safety Management Program to develop leadership skills and contribute to the overall leadership capacity within the organization.
  • Supervisory Role: Assume the role of Maintenance Supervisor as needed, providing leadership and continuity in their absence to ensure ongoing maintenance operations and team support.

Skills & Experience:

Strengths: 

  • Strong knowledge of instrumentation and automation systems, including maintenance and engineering change tasks. Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and one-line diagrams.
  • Commitment to performing all activities safely and in compliance with regulatory and company HSE standards. Ability to lead safety drills, advise during emergencies, and ensure safe control and isolation of mechanical systems.
  • Expertise in maintaining onshore and offshore instrumentation equipment to ensure safe and reliable operations. Proficiency in troubleshooting, inspecting, testing, and evaluating equipment performance.
  • Promote a risk-based approach to maintenance and operations, ensuring compliance with legislation, facility Safety Case, ISO 14001, and company HSE management systems.
  • Ability to develop and maintain instrumentation procedures and work instructions, ensuring compliance by facility personnel and contractors. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to maintenance activities.
  • Strong personal and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with team members, lead facility HSEC meetings, and provide coaching and mentoring.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in maintenance strategies, processes, and procedures. Champion the CMMS and analyze reports to maximize equipment reliability.
  • Demonstrated competence in emergency response and process optimization. Ability to perform equipment inspection and testing, including safety-critical testing.
  • A desire to learn and challenge oneself, with training objectives set by self and management. Work towards obtaining a Maintenance Supervisor's Marine Certification and the knowledge to step into the Maintenance Supervisor's roll

 

 

 

Qualifications 

  • Citizenship: Mexican Citizen
  • Visa Requirements: B1/B2 USA Visa required
  • Education: University Degree or Trade Certificate required
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in offshore oil & gas production operations
  • Communication Skills: Proficient in written communication
  • Maintenance Management Systems: Experience with maintenance management systems, with a preference for SAP over other CMMS systems
  • Technical Expertise: Instrument/electrical design and commissioning experience
  • Computer Skills: Proficient computer skills relevant to job responsibilities
  • Training: High and low voltage switchgear operation and maintenance training required
  • Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of distributed control systems, high and low voltage electrical equipment, gas metering and analyzer systems, power generation, and hazardous area equipment
  • Experience in the use of diagnostic equipment related to electrical systems and equipment. 

Duration of Assignment: Permanent and rotational

 

Proficiency in English is preferred
