Manager Contracts - International Operations - Senegal & Mexico

About the Role

We are seeking a Contracts Manager to join the International Region Contracts team based in Houston. This role involves collaborating with the Contracts & Procurement leadership and Operations teams in Mexico and Senegal. The position includes participation in business planning for contracting strategies and supporting sourcing activities related to the operational scope for Senegal and Mexico.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead a remote team in executing comprehensive sourcing planning and activities across Senegal and Mexico operations.
• Apply local government requirements or production sharing agreements to contracting and procurement processes.
• Ensure contract and procurement compliance with delivery requirements, procedures, and local regulations.
• Engage with stakeholders to understand upcoming business needs, leading contract strategies, and optimizing sourcing options by leveraging global footprints and understanding local markets to achieve the lowest total cost of ownership in OPEX.
• Lead strategic negotiations of contract terms and conditions through to successful contract awards for strategic contracts.
• Must be available to travel to Senegal and Mexico several times a year to meet with team members, business, and suppliers.
• Develop strategic category plans by guiding teams to create category strategies aligned with organizational and regional objectives, using an analytical understanding of market trends, supplier landscapes, and benchmarking to provide informed decision-making advice.
• Foster long-term partnerships with key suppliers to drive innovation, value, and risk mitigation.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through supplier optimization, leveraging the global footprint and strategic relationships, and conducting effective contract negotiations.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and company policies in all contract and procurement activities.
• Lead cross-regional teams in executing category strategies, contracting strategies, and sourcing activities for Senegal and Mexico.
• Demonstrate flexibility and assist across portfolios as needed.
• Possess a strong understanding of procurement ethics to conduct sourcing activities professionally and ethically.

Skills & Experiences

• University degree in business, finance, or other related discipline, or relevant experience in a contracting and sourcing role.
• Demonstrated experience with leadership or leadership capabilities that show stakeholder alignment, team collaboration, and innovation.
• Over 10 years of contracting and procurement experience in the energy industry.
• Highly developed communication skills, capable of interacting and influencing at all levels within the organisation.
• Well-organised self-starter, able to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise across multiple activities and stakeholder groups.
• Positive and proactive individual who collaborates effectively with diverse teams and seeks to embed innovation and creative problem-solving approaches.
