About the Role:
This role will report into the Head of Group Accounting and Reporting and is responsible in leading a team to deliver Woodside’s Group Accounting processes and support the delivery of the Group‘s financial reporting.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Understanding and application of relevant accounting standards.
- Preparation of Audit & Risk Committee papers.
- Ensures process are compliant with all statutory requirements, including tax, SOX, audit compliance and Woodside Code of Conduct.
- Supports the external audit of Group Processes.
Management and review of team’s deliverables, including:
- Half-yearly impairment assessment and preparation of impairment A&RC papers;
- Tax effect accounting for corporate income taxes APAC and consolidation;
- Tax effect accounting for PRRT;
- Treasury accounting including debt, hedging activities and dividends;
- Accounting for business combinations and asset acquisitions, including the ongoing PPA accounting;
- Accounting for share-based payments;
- Intercompany accounting for loans, dividends and share capital;
- Accounting for embedded derivatives and FCTR;
- Monthly and half yearly reporting and analysis of balances in the Group’s reports; and
- Budgeting and forecasting of Group accounting balances.
Skills & Experience:
- Demonstrated experience leading a team.
- Able to prioritise work and manage team’s work to deliver on key business outcomes.
- Able to clearly communicate complex financial information to broad audience both written and verbal.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, process improvement mindset, organisation skills and high attention to detail.
- Robust and instinctive technical accounting knowledge of IFRS and AASB and financial statement disclosures.
- 10 + years of experience as an accounting professional and hold professional qualification (CA/CPA).
- Experience working in or with hydrocarbon and/or extractive industries.
