About the Role:

The role of Manager Marketing Trading and Shipping (MT&S) Accounting is responsible for delivering Marketing Accounting & Reporting support for the Australia and International portfolio of assets in line with Woodside accounting policies and supports the delivery of the Group‘s shareholder reports. This role will report into the Head of Accounting and Reporting – Australia, MT&S and New Energy.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Key roles and responsibilities of the role include: 

 

  • Management and review of team’s delivery of monthly Period End Close processes inclusive of review of Marketing, Trading and Shipping accruals, Accounts Receivables, Deferred Income, Intercompany, Onerous Contract provisions, open price adjustments and Stock in Transit for Australia and Marketing assets.
  • Review of quality variance analysis identifying key business drivers for the results in key reports such as Flash and WFOR for the consolidated group.
  • Liaising with Finance Business Partners, Marketing and Production teams to ensure sound understanding of asset performance and consistency of messaging;
  • Support the review of the monthly trial balance for relevant areas, quarterly review and reporting for ASX and half yearly review and reporting for LHN and Annual Report for the consolidated Group; 
  • Monthly review of accounts receivable aging analysis on outstanding amounts to follow up with the business;
  • Support the external and internal audit for both Group and Subsidiary accounts within the portfolio.
  • Support accounting and reporting of WETS and WESS inclusive of supporting preparation of Financial Statements as required by relevant boards for review;
  • Support and drive implementation of process improvement initiatives;
  • Ensure process are compliant with all statutory requirements, including SOX, Audit compliance and Woodside Code of Conduct.

Skills & Experience:

  • Demonstrate commitment to and alignment with the Woodside Compass.
  • Demonstrate leadership capability, and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to prioritise work and manage team’s work to deliver on key business outcomes.
  • Able to clearly communicate complex financial information to broad audience both written and verbal.
  • Strong technical understanding of financial accounting and understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and Statutory Reporting requirements.
  • Leadership skills in global multi-cultural environments and ability to lead and manage change.
  • 10 + years of experience as an accounting professional and hold professional qualification (CA/CPA).
  • Experience in oil and gas industry and/or audit services is preferable.
