We are seeking a Systems Modelling Engineer to join our team based in Perth on a full-time permanent basis. Reporting to Manager Systems Integration and Modelling, you will apply your engineering skills to optimise system design and model lifecycle economics of New Energy opportunities using internally developed and commercial tools.

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Applies technoeconomic toolkit to evaluate power to lower-carbon  hydrogen, and ammonia business opportunities.
  • Responsible for technically sound application of modeling toolkit and benchmarking project lifecycle economics
  • Effectively communicates modelling results and cost sensitivities with internal stakeholders through data visualizations.
  • Collaborates with business teams to solve power and production system technical and engineering challenges.
  • Feedback modelling toolkit and code-base areas for improvement as part of continuous improvement.
  • Routinely shares knowledge, insights, and lessons learnt to stakeholders.

Skills & Experience:

 

  • Process Systems, Chemical, or Electrical Engineer.
  • Technical knowledge of renewable power generation, utility power, and hydrogen & ammonia production systems.
  • Experience with capital project estimates and economic evaluation.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and leverage technical and engineering skills, business acumen, and experts to solve technoeconomic problems.
  • Ability to effectively communicate simulation results and sensitivities to both internal and external stakeholders to influence business decision.
  • Experience modelling Power to New Energy product systems in PLEXOS is highly favourable.
  • Coding experience using Python or Java object-oriented programming to develop engineering apps a plus.  Potential growth opportunity
  • Experience modelling in Aspen HYSYS would be desirable.
