About the Role:

 

This position is responsible for leading and managing the onshore execution of SURF infrastructure, ensuring the effective definition and implementation of decontamination and waste management processes throughout the lifecycle of decommissioning projects.

 

This role will be imbedded within the Projects Australia team with a dotted reporting line into SURF Project Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and implement optimal execution strategies for onshore decommissioning scopes within the decommissioning portfolio.
  • Oversee project delivery of onshore activities and provide technical oversight for both current and emerging scopes, including site establishment and planning, testing, decontamination, depressurisation, de-energisation, deconstruction, and disposal of decommissioned assets.
  • Ensure all contractor operations are conducted safely and efficiently, with effective risk management, capture of lessons learned, and implementation of continuous improvements.
  • Manage interfaces with Woodside’s internal departments and coordinate the delivery of documentation and information management.
  • Conduct verification and assurance of onshore decommissioning activities, including decontamination, cleaning, and disposal of removed facilities.
  • Lead contracting activities related to onshore execution.

Skills & Experience:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Supply Chain, or Engineering (highly regarded).
  • Relevant Project Management qualifications.
  • Proven expertise in contaminant testing, decontamination processes, and industry best practices for the management and processing of decommissioned facilities.
  • Experience managing decommissioning disposals and logistics contracts in accordance with Project Execution Plans.
  • Ability to identify innovative approaches to onshore equipment testing, decontamination, and processing scopes.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders both internally and externally, and to liaise effectively with personnel at all organisational levels.
  • Knowledge of market capabilities, industry trends, and regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with subsea facilities specifications and standards.
  • Demonstrated commitment to improving Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) outcomes.
  • Highly motivated, with proven project engineering and contractor management skills, supporting successful outcomes in multicultural environments.
  • Patience, flexibility, and adaptability to changing circumstances.
