About the Role:

Leading a team, the Warehouse, Inventory and Logistics (WIL) Operations Readiness Supt. is accountable for the development of material and logistics plans across projects support in support of International Operations, Greenfield and Brownfield Project material management and freight forward and customs activities in support of the Business. The Superintendent is also accountable for managing vendors which hold Woodside Projects inventory.  Operations Readiness Team is primarily made up of Woodside Energy employees or Third-Party Contractors. The Superintendent is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive inventory strategy for Projects and Maintenance activities, overseeing strategic planning, execution of material readiness and logistical support across the multiple businesses within the region. All work is to be done in accordance with the HSEC standards of Woodside Energy and aligned with our Charter Values.

Duties & Responsibilities:

•    Collaborate with WIL and International Operations leadership to manage inventory operations effectively.
•    Develop Logistics Assessments with International Region Project Teams, aligning with WIL Strategy and Service Delivery Model.
•    Lead, coach, and develop the Operations Readiness team for warehouse, inventory, and logistics activities.
•    Interface with Project teams and Suppliers to support asset development.
•    Enforce company HSEC standards with contractors and 3rd party suppliers.
•    Manage the performance of the Operations Readiness team, ensuring quality and adherence to standards.
•    Align senior management on Warehouse, Inventory, and Logistics strategy, forecasts, and long-term plans.
•    Foster positive relationships through effective communication and regular feedback.
•    Ensure SAP processes are understood and followed across WIL.
•    Set and communicate clear targets and expectations to the team.
•    Improve WMS processes, including receiving, issuing, storage, inventory optimization, and disposals.
•    Engage and enable the team to meet performance targets and promote a safe, sustainable work culture.
•    Develop innovative solutions for materials availability issues and implement them.
•    Participate in Leadership meetings to influence regional business outcomes.
•    Support Inventory teams in strategic decision-making and materials management.
•    Contribute to long-term planning and budgeting to meet goals.
•    Promote adherence to Inventory processes, SOX compliance, and relevant standards.
•    Identify opportunities for working capital optimization with inventory owners and vendors.
•    Participate in planning meetings, providing insights on warehouse and inventory strategies.
•    Assist with internal and external audit responses.
•    Manage material disposals and sales to 3rd party buyers.
•    Provide reports on Inventory activities.
•    Support commercial contracting and risk management.
•    Identify and mitigate HSEC and facility-related risks.
•    Evaluate, select, and manage suppliers and contractors.
•    Ensure proper preservation and maintenance of materials.
•    Develop modern warehouse solutions to minimize footprint.
•    Plan for future warehousing and materials management needs.
•    Develop just-in-time and 3PL strategies.
•    Align WIL with Operations’ maintenance strategies.
•    Integrate tools like SAP and TMS for operational support.
 

Skills & Experience:

 

  • 4-year post-secondary degree
  • Graduate Degree preferred.
  • Preferred 10+ years of Materials Management, inventory control, logistics and procurement experience, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry
  • Preferred 6+ years of experience leading teams in Materials Management, Warehouse and Logistics principles
  • Strong knowledge of LNG Operations requirements and experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Materials Management, Inventory control, Purchasing and contracting practices within the Woodside Energy systems
  • Strong knowledge of materials and services within Oil and Gas Production and how Woodside Energy utilizes them.
  • Strong knowledge of offshore production facilities and support equipment
  • Knowledge of how to interpret equipment manuals and drawings.
  • Computer skills commensurate with job responsibilities
  • Excellent personal, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong HSEC record with knowledge of local regulations.
