About the Role:

In January 2019 Woodside signed its first agreement to supply LNG fuels to the mining industry in WA’s north west. We are looking to build on that success and grow our LNG Trucking business and supply LNG fuels to other customers in the Pilbara and Kimberley region.

We are looking to appoint a Business Development Adviser / Manager to the team to build on this early success and continue to grow the business.

This is a critical role where you will be responsible for building Woodside’s brand and reputation in the domestic LNG fuel space, new clients, negotiate deals and provide technical solutions to clients.

This is a permanent, staff role, based from our Perth offices.

Duties & Responsibilities:

This is a wide and varied role where you will be responsible for building Woodside’s brand and reputation in LNG Fuels. You’ll do this by being Woodside’s main marketing ‘face’ and contact point for remote power customers and building Woodside's capability in remote power and renewable energy offering.

Some of the day-to-day responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Project origination for using LNG in remote power applications
  • Working with customers to understand their needs
  • Developing appropriate solutions to match customer requirements within Woodside objectives
  • Preparing proposals, tenders, deal negotiation, and deal completion to FID
  • Prepare marketing proposals, business cases and internal approval papers
  • Developing and managing relationships with Joint Venture partners, IPP’s and OEM’s
  • Building and managing Woodside’s presence and reputation within the Remote Power market, and
  • Developing opportunities to use LNG for community-level remote power.

Skills & Experience:

Critical to this role is an ability to be technically astute, develop and execute the marketing strategies for entry into new markets and undertake key risk/reward analysis. You’ll bring a strong track record in business acumen and negotiation skills to manage commercial, technical and contractual agreements, with proven ability to close deals.


As this role will involve helping customers with technical aspects of LNG fuel, you’ll have a solid technical understanding and exposure to LNG and Power and be able to talk technical details with clients. Your background will mean you will have developed great client facing and communication skills.


To be successful in this role you will be a degree qualified professional, with a degree in Engineering, Commerce or similar. In addition, you will have considerable experience in either O&G, Mining or Power sectors where you’ll be able to demonstrate commercial / marketing exposure. Ideally your background will include familiarity with the WA mining industry.
