About the Role:

As Woodside forges ahead with industry-leading innovation, our Digital function continues to challenge traditional ways of working to transform our operations, targeting 30% efficiency improvement for operated assets over 3 years. By augmenting our workforce with fit-for-purpose technology solutions, Woodside’s operations are reaching new heights of safety, efficiency and productivity. 
Our Digital Team is currently seeking a number of Senior Software Engineers to join our ranks for Woodsides’ dynamic transformation journey. Working from our Perth-based, state-of-the-art office, you will contribute to the Woodsides ops transformation success, these roles will strategically drive a change in software engineering across the team by building and setting up of frameworks and tools, setting standards and guidelines and coaching and evangelising DevSecOps principles. Duties & Responsibilities:

•    Responsible for understanding and developing cloud-native application architectures (Microservices, Serverless, Containers), and software engineering and operations practices (Agile, DevOps, DevSecOps, and Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery) leveraging cloud technologies to address those needs.
•    Responsible for promoting and building reusable, and sustainable approaches and frameworks to software engineering.
•    Responsible for identifying, embedding, promoting and ensuring Continuous Improvement mindset within the Software Engineering & Integration team.
•    Responsible for coaching and evangelising DevOps principles and standards to uplift the software engineering capability in Woodside.
•    Responsible for providing leadership and guidance to coach, inspire and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development.
•    Contribute to the teams understanding of security
•    Work with other engineers to tackle large issues with vague requirements and design implementations
•    Maintain coding consistency across the code base
•    Mentor junior engineers on best practices

Skills & Experience:

•    5+ years’ experience in mid-level software engineering roles working in DevOps teams with a focus on test and behaviour driven software development
•    3+ years’ experience in software development using cloud technologies
•    2+ years’ experience in building, implementing and supporting patterns and frameworks that are used by other software developers.
•    Proficient (skilled) in professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software engineering life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations. 
•    Extensive experience (skilled) in designing and building cloud-native application architectures and operations including Agile, DevSecOps, and Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery.
•    An ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders 
•    Strong technical and non-technical problem-solving skills
•    Comfort in leading small teams & acting as a mentor
•    Ideally you will possess AWS Development certifications, experience in AWS networking and serverless technologies, Typescript & ReactJS, experience developing web applications with modern reactive JavaScript frameworks will also be considered.
