About the Role:

Reporting to the Scarborough Project Finance Manager, the Project Accountant (Pluto Expansion – Scarborough Project) is responsible for all the financial management process of the Project Team. This role has core responsibility for maintaining effective accounting/costing control and reporting processes and procedures, and corporate governance requirements as they apply to the to the project.

 

This position will be based in Perth, Western Australia and offers lots of opportunities and a great lifestyle.

 

This position will work on a 24 month fixed term contract.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Work in co-ordination with the larger Scarborough Development Finance team to deliver timely, relevant and reliable financial information (actuals/budgets/forecasts) to the Burrup Hub business unit and corporate teams
  • Meet cost and schedule requirements of the Pluto Expansion project development through the provision of effective financial management and control
  • Manage the standard month end project deliverables – accruals, time writing, cost centre reporting, ensuring continued integrity and accuracy
  • Maintain effective accounting/costing control processes and procedures
  • Continuous review and challenge of project budgets and forecasts and changes thereto with Project Controls to ensure continuous accuracy and integrity of numbers, assumptions and reporting
  • Anticipate needs, communicate issues, seek solutions and work with the business to achieve positive outcomes and add value to their business
  • Focus efforts to improve the delivery of financial services and processes that meet customer requirements and shift emphasis from historic review to performance management
  • Work with other Management/Project Accountants across the Burrup Hub to ensure consistency of process and deliverables
Skills & Experience:

If you have a background in energy, mining, financial services, consulting, utilities, automotive, aviation, military, pharmaceuticals, chemical processing or construction industries, you are strongly encouraged to apply.

 

What we expect from you:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a CA or CPA qualification (including current membership with CA or CPA)
  • Demonstrated experiences as a Project Accountant who has provided financial leadership for valuable and strategic advice to customers/businesses
  • Excellent communication skills across a broad range of finance and non-finance personnel
  • Strong financial and analytical skills, including strong attention to detail
  • Improvement mindset to continually optimise processes
  • SAP proficiency particularly in the JV/CO modules
  • Knowledge and understanding of Joint Venture arrangements and accounting preferred
  • Understanding of the Exploration and Production lifecycle will be considered advantageous
