About the Role

 

The primary responsibility of the Principal Business Development - Ammonia is to partner, collaborate with, and lead business development opportunities to meet or exceed sales revenue and profitability, and budgetary objectives for the sale of ammonia from the Beaumont, Texas asset.

 

The role involves strategic planning, partnering with key stakeholders, internal and external, and leveraging technology while improving processes for the sales of all ammonia. This position will also work closely with other staff at Woodside’s US HQ (Houston) and Woodside Beaumont Plant sites. 

 

Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Create a culture of success and goal achievement.
  • Develop plans and strategies for developing business and achieving the company’s sales goals.
  • Manage budget, sales and operations teams to deliver profitable growth.
  • Define and coordinate industry training programs that enable Woodside staff to achieve their potential and support company sales objectives.
  • Manage customer expectations and contribute to a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Define sales processes that drive desired sales outcomes and identify improvements.
  • Put in place infrastructure and systems to support the success of the sales function.
  • Monitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to company leadership team and other company functions.
  • Work closely with the Marketing and Trading function to establish successful support, channel, and partner programs.
  • Manage key customer relationships and participate in closing strategic opportunities.
  • Travel for in-person meetings with customers and partners and to develop key relationships.
  • Participate in cross functional groups to establish marketing, product direction and production volumes. 
  • Attend sales meetings and conferences to keep up with changes in the agronomy field to enhance and expand product knowledge.  Domestic and International travel may be required.
  • Follow company safety and health guidelines and other company policies.

Skills & Experiences

 

  • A Bachelor of Science degree or business or equivalent and 20 + years of proven success in fertilizer sales/management. 
  • Significant relationships in fertilizer and chemical markets for ammonia
  • Possess a strong knowledge in all fertilizers products and how they affect crops.
  • Possess a working knowledge of chemical uses of ammonia and ability to sell ammonia to corporate customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects. 
  • Exceptional communication along with strong interpersonal skills required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
