About the Role:
An experienced Geologist is needed within the Trion organization to work collaboratively within the multi-discipline teams to conduct technical evaluations in support of development planning & execution and production. The immediate areas of focus will be mainly related to well contingency planning, well execution support and post-well activity coordination. The qualified candidate should have substantive experience with subsurface well planning, well execution support and production geology.
This role will report to the Trion subsurface manager role. It is a full-time position based in Mexico City, Mexico where most of the team will be located with additional subsurface team members within the Houston Texas, USA office.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Collaboration with subsurface team to support well contingency planning for development wells
• Support development well planning refinements based on reprocessed seismic data
• Support the operations geologist during the drilling campaign
• Develop and maintain integrated geology work plans and business priorities in conjunction with other team geologists
• Prepare materials and participate in joint venture technical engagements with partner PEMEX
• Collaborate with Houston based geoscience staff for static model updates based on well results
• Support building processes and systems ahead of the drilling campaign start for efficient delivery of tight timeline regulatory requirements for development wells as well as internal & partner communications
• Coordinate subsurface QA/QC of well data in compliance with post well reporting government and company regulations and requirements
Skills & Experience:
• Minimum degree qualification in a Geoscience discipline (Geology or Geophysics)
• 15+ years’ experience in geology role within the upstream oil and gas industry and experience working within a multi-disciplinary subsurface team.
• Excellent collaboration skills and strong integrator of information and analysis across multiple disciplines
• Proven track record of well planning and execution during drilling and completion operations
• Working experience with various projects ranging from development to late production is preferred
• Experience in building and updating static model for greenfield and brownfield developments
• Understanding of static to dynamic model integration
• Ability to provide production geology insights to well performance and surveillance results.
• A high level of attention to detail and ability to work and manage large data sets
• Proven ability to present clear and concise technical summaries for internal and external stakeholders
• Previous offshore and deepwater operation experience is preferred
• Spanish & English required
