About the Role:

Lead the key project services activities in support of the Execute Phase of the Woodside Louisiana LNG project.  These activities include, but not limited to estimating/benchmarking, cost & schedule risk management, planning/progress measurement, cost control, information management/document control, performance management and reporting, change management, assurance, and closeout & handover.

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Deliver Project Services activities in accordance with company values, policies, standards and expected behaviours.

  • Establish an integrated Project Services Work environment to optimise use of available resources to complete work scopes within time and budget constraints
  • Complete individual performance reviews, development plans, competency assessments as applicable

 

 

 

  • Lead the progression of the Project through the IMF stage gate process and in-particular from Design into Execute and then Operate
  • Lead the development of applicable stage gate deliverables including Basis of Estimate, Basis of Schedule, Estimate, Schedule, Cost & Schedule Risk Assessment, Project Services Implementation Plan etc.
  • Establish and manage the project control budget and baseline schedule
  • Support/mentor teams through periodic cost & schedule deep dives and risk/uncertainty reviews
  • Establish applicable project KPI’s and implement performance management and reporting process
  • Maintain, track and forecast scope, cost and schedule trends
  • Provide project status analysis & insights to management and JV partners
  • Administer change management process
  • Manage the project annual budget and SoX compliance processes
  • Coordinate the project information management/document control activities
  • Promote knowledge sharing and collaboration amongst fellow project team members
  • Promote cross-functional information exchange to improve team awareness

 

  • Foster solid relationships with key stakeholders
  • Lead communications with the business to ensure aligned expectations and delivery to commitments
  • Govern compliance with corporate project services processes and procedures
  • Develop/implement fit-for-purpose systems and processes to enable optimal solutions and outcomes
  • Lead and manage realistic expectations for the Project Services team
  • Lead with sense of ownership and responsibility
  • Participate in Industry forums e.g. IPA, Performance Forum etc.

 

Skills & Experience:

Skills

  • Excellent understanding of Project Services processes, systems/tools, dependencies and best practices
  • Good understanding of cost and schedule risk modelling techniques & tools
  • Knowledge of internal and external benchmarking practices
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement & communication skills
  • Good knowledge and understanding of onshore project execution and delivery - familiarity of LNG projects preferred
  • Effective project change management
  • Good understanding of various contracting strategies and procurement management
  • Familiarity with dependent finance related activities and deliverables
  • Experience with SoX requirements
  • Experience with continuous improvement and leading change

Qualification

  • A recognized tertiary degree in the relevant discipline or equivalent qualification/experience

Experience

  • Over 10 years of project services experience with at least 2-3 years of experience across Offshore and Onshore major Projects in the Energy industry
  • Experience in managing large complex projects
  • Experience in dealing with Contractors and JV partners
  • Experience in project cost & schedule reviews
  • Experience in cost and schedule risk modelling
  • Experience in use, preparation, update, and roll-out of functional guidelines
  • Experience of working with multi-disciplinary team
