About the Role:

 

In this role you will be responsible for ensuring all regulatory compliance requirements within our Marketing and Trading (M&T) function are met. you will also provide support to the GM Governance & Business Improvement by ensuring all regulatory compliance activities are well understood and completed in a timely manner.

The primary focus will be on the eastern Australian obligations; with the role based in Melbourne, however the role is responsible for all global regulatory compliance actions.

 

This role is offered as a 2 year fixed-term position.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for M&T Regulatory compliance activities, including ensuring all reporting requirements are documented and actioned in a timely manner, any system integration and improvement is managed, ad-hoc or emergent Regulatory compliance initiatives are captured.

This role is the 'focal point' for the M&T Division, so you will support and team members with risk and compliance queries and actions. 

The position is also responsible for streamlining the M&T systems and processes regarding regulatory compliance activities.

 

On a personnel and team perspective, the position will:

  • Support M&T staff in the effective use, development, uptake and maintenance of regulatory compliance activities
  • Support change management across M&T in relation to the regulatory compliance obligations
  • Support M&T team members to achieve desired compliance and risk culture
  • Responsible for building networks internally and externally (as appropriate) to Woodside.
  • Maintain standards of behaviour within team and across key interface relationships

 

Skills & Experience:

 

We are seeking a degree qualification in either Law, Finance, Commerce, Engineering or Science, and a demonstrated background in Regulatory Compliance (essential).

As you will be supporting a team of trading and marketing professionals, you will ideally have experience in commodity trading, risk management, financial derivatives, governance, audit, general management, contracts and procurement (or similar)

You will ring strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work closely with immediate, broader team members in both a dynamic environment and in high-pressure situations. Demonstrated influencing skills, tenacity, and willingness to present views in a forthright, constructive manner will help you succeed in this role.

Strong analytic capability, accuracy, organisational skills (timeliness/planning), attention to detail, clear communication skills and ability to manage several tasks of competing priorities and to meet or negotiate deadlines are also highly desirable traits.
