About the Role:

 

As a Senior Cloud and Infrastructure Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in shaping, supporting, and advancing Woodside’s cloud platforms. You will provide technical leadership and hands-on expertise across cloud operations, platform development, automation, and governance. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and is passionate about driving continuous improvement in cloud services.

 

About the Function:

 

The Infrastructure Platforms Operations function is responsible for the design, development, and operational excellence of Woodside’s cloud and on-premise digital infrastructure environments. We enable secure, scalable, and innovative cloud solutions that support the business’s digital transformation, operational efficiency, and compliance objectives. Our team partners closely with CloudOps, MSPs, and business stakeholders to deliver robust, cost-effective, and future-ready cloud platforms.

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide oversight, guidance, and technical SME support to CloudOps teams.
  • Resolve complex incidents and requests, including troubleshooting integration errors and platform issues.
  • Contribute to the design, development, and strategic direction of cloud platforms, including AWS and Azure.
  • Develop and enhance orchestration features and implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions for AWS application deployments.
  • Conduct code reviews and maintain high standards for platform codebases.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive platform documentation.
  • Support and guide Cloud delivery resources, providing technical, business context and ITIL best practices.
  • Drive process improvements to uplift delivery enablement.
  • Contribute or lead deliverables of infrastructure projects.
  • Act as a key interface with digital and business stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Provide FinOps governance and oversight for cloud spend and acting as the primary point of contact for cloud billing matters.
  • Drive cost optimization by assessing and recommending savings plans, reservation strategies, and communicating financial insights to stakeholders.

 

Skills & Experience:

 

  • Extensive experience in cloud platform operations, preferably in AWS and Azure environments.
  • Scripting skills (Bash, PowerShell, Python) for automation and troubleshooting.
  • Proven ability to design and implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions.
  • Experience with cloud cost optimization, billing, and FinOps practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices and MSP delivery models.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively identify operational issues, define and scope effective solutions, and package work items into a continuous improvement backlog for delivery.
  • Brings a security-first mindset, fostering a strong cyber security culture and embedding best practices throughout technology and business processes.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, budgeting, and reporting, preferably including proficiency with SAP or similar enterprise financial systems.
  • Desirable: Experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions.
