About the Role:
Our Digital Team is currently recruiting a Senior Cloud and Infrastructure Engineer who will be accountable for the operational health, stability, and performance of the Woodside cloud infrastructure environment. This role will ensure ongoing reliability through proactive maintenance, the implementation of governance frameworks, and adherence to compliance standards. Additionally, you will guide operational planning by shaping platform architecture decisions, driving technology roadmaps, reinforcing security measures, streamlining application deployments, and supporting platform evolution and innovation aligned with core operational requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities:
As an infrastructure technical expert, you will be expected to be a key input into the technical direction of the enterprise cloud platform and provide support for junior team members. The Senior Cloud and Infrastructure Engineer will be pivotal in helping us understand our cloud and on-premise computing needs, be it in advising and shaping enterprise cloud platform architecture, platform evolution and innovation, application design or the deployment of infrastructure systems and technology roadmaps.
You must also be constantly evolving your skills and capabilities as an engineer over time to continue to help deliver business outcomes.
Responsibilities include:
- Working together with the engineering team to design and implement the most optimal enterprise infrastructure solutions.
- Input to enterprise cloud platform evolution, automation, uplift and security.
- Input to enterprise on-premise infrastructure evolution, automation, uplift and security.
- Deploying and debugging infrastructure initiatives as needed in accordance with best practice.
- Educating teams on the architecture and implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training as required.
- Develop best practices for the larger Cloud and Infrastructure Engineering team.
- Stay current with industry trends.
Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years experience in technical infrastructure roles.
- 3+ years experience in technical hands on cloud IaaS, platform architecture, design and delivery.
- 2+ years experience in DevOps environment desirable.
- Good understanding of both on-premise and cloud infrastructure, architecture, delivery and support.
- Experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM) platforms.
- Understanding of Microsoft Enterprise Access model desirable.
- A high-performance, can-do mindset with a positive outlook.
- Demonstrated experience leading initiatives and small teams.
- Information Technology/Computer Science or related Degree at an Australian or Industry-recognised University.
- AWS Cloud Certifications.
- Additional tertiary qualifications desirable.
