About the Role:
Purpose
The Environmental Specialist will coordinate the detailed development of permitting and regulatory deliverables, with emphasis on NEPA compliance for the Louisiana LNG and Pipeline Projects.
This position will be based in Houston, TX.

Duties & Responsibilities:
HSEQ
- Enforce and ensure compliance with Company / Project HSEQ and Regulatory Affairs policies, standards, and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, submit, and manage NEPA regulatory applications and documents. Ensure all project activities comply with environmental, safety, and legal regulations.
- Review environmental impact assessments and collaborate with teams to minimize risks and mitigate impacts.
- Identify and assess regulatory risks associated with the project, developing strategies to mitigate them.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address regulatory matters and provide guidance on compliance.
- Support cross-functional teams, such as engineering, and construction, in applying environmental and regulatory requirements based on permits and legislation.
- Support development of permit filings and reports, as needed.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and local requirements.
Skills & Experience:
- Strong knowledge of regulatory processes, environmental regulations, and safety standards, particularly in the energy industry.
- Proven experience in successfully obtaining regulatory approvals for large-scale energy projects.
- Strong project management skills, including attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Relevant experience in LNG, gas transmission/compression, refining, petrochemical, or energy transition projects (e.g., hydrogen production, CCS, methanol synthesis).
- Advanced knowledge of and ability to apply environmental compliance and permitting regulations of applicable regulatory agencies including the FERC, EPA, USACE, USFWS, and Louisiana state agencies (LDWF, LDEQ, LDNR).
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams, provide technical guidance, and review work for accuracy and compliance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.) and SharePoint.
Qualifications
- Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Natural Resources, Geology or a related field (preferred)
- Certification in environmental management.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in regulatory affairs, permitting, or related roles, with a focus on the energy industry.
