About Trion
The Trion project is an oil opportunity in Mexico and is located in the Gulf of Mexico, approximately 180km off the Mexican coastline and 30km south of the US/Mexico maritime boarder at a water depth of approximately 2,500 meters. Trion will be one of Mexico’s first deep-water oil developments achieving project.
Trion is Woodside Energy’s operated production asset within the Perdido basin in ultra Deepwater offshore Mexico with first oil targeted in late 2027 with development drilling expected in start in late 2025.
About the Role:
We are seeking a proactive and high-performing HR professional with strong project management and delivery skills to join our HR team in Mexico as Senior HR Business Partner supporting the Trion Project.
Specifically, you will play a key role in developing and executing HR deliverables associated with the Trion Project’s Operations Readiness Human Resources Management Plan, which involves, developing and executing a labor relations strategy, resourcing strategies, diversity strategy, building future leadership capability and E/IR acumen, culture induction plan, training/academic partnerships for early career pathways, and partnering with other internal functions on social value programs, for our future operations. In doing so, you will engage across our global HR specialists and centers of excellence teams to draw in the expertise required to design and develop these programs, and project manage the delivery through these teams.
You will be a key player in supporting the Mexico Leadership team as a trusted HR business partner, support with day-to-day HR enquiries, ensuring all HR regulatory compliance actions and reporting are completed in a timely manner. You will also champion the advancement of Woodside’s people strategy and fostering our vision of a One Team culture.
You will report to the Regional HR Business Partner Lead based in Houston and be an integral part of the International Business HR team. While based in Mexico City, you will occasionally travel to Tampico to support operational needs, with infrequent international travel to Houston as required.
About You
You are an experienced HR professional with strong project management skills and a deep understanding of Mexico's Labor relations laws and statutory environment. You possess strong expertise across the full spectrum of HR, including business partnership, stakeholder engagement, leadership coaching, talent acquisition, culture, diversity, and foundational HR processes. Experience in supporting oil and gas operations or major capital projects is highly preferred.
As a team player, you can work autonomously and demonstrate accountability over your deliverables while ensuring seamless integration in planning and execution within a global HR team. Your ability to effectively engage with stakeholders and drive alignment on project priorities is second to none. You demonstrate strong influencing skills and adapt your engagement approach to achieve the desired outcomes.
English and Spanish language skills are both required.
Skills & Experience:
10+ years of experience and bachelor’s degree in HR or Business or other relevant field.
Proficiency in English is required
