The Sangomar field, which contains both oil and gas, is situated 100 kilometers south of Dakar. Work on the Sangomar Field Development has been ongoing since June 2024. These positions are exclusively open to Senegalese nationals.

About the Role:

Based Offshore on rotation, the Operations Engineer is a member of the Integrated Woodside & Operations Contractor team responsible for supporting Company engineering, operations and assurance activities of the Operations Contractor; coordinating with the onshore based teams, acting as an offshore focal point for vulnerabilities and opportunities and developing an integrated awareness of Process, Reservoir, Wells, Subsea, Flow Assurance and Operations disciplines.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Foster a safe work environment for all staff and contractors, ensuring strict adherence to the Sangomar Safety Management System.
Contribute and support operational risk management.
Assist in the planning, execution, and verification of operational activities to achieve safe, reliable, and predictable outcomes.
Provide oversight support for FPSO operations ensuring that the FPSO is operated within the defined integrity requirements and the approved procedures within the Operations and Maintenance Contractor’s (OMC) Integrated Management System.
Support for continuous improvement opportunities to be identified, assessed and implemented with oversight on equipment performance & operations performed by Contractor.
Support the Operations Superintendent’s  oversight and management of all offshore Production Operations activities required for the Sangomar Field.
Support the required verification activities to ensure that Sangomar operations comply with all legislative and regulatory requirements.
Support Production Operations compliance processes within the bounds of the Sangomar FPSO Operations and Maintenance contract .
Support the execution of annual work plans and seek cost effect opportunities.
See continuous improvements to enable safe, reliable and cost-efficient operations. 
Verification of Safety Case compliance and oversight of Field Operations.
Contribute to a one team ethos supporting the Maintenance  Engineer as needed by the business.

Skills & Experience:

Engineering or trade background in Instrument / Electrical, Mechanical, Rotating Equipment or related fields or significant operational experience in a relevant industry.
5 -10 years of experience working in relevant mining, heavy industry, large manufacturing, or energy industries.
A team player that can collaborate in a multidiscipline team and across a range of stakeholders.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong drive for continuous improvement and self-development.
Computer literate with proficient skills in a range of office business applications.
A flexible can-do attitude with a drive to learn and develop your skills.
Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills.
