About the Role:

The Specialist Maintenance A&I Engineer role is an integral member of the International Operations Surface Engineering Team based in Trinidad & Tobago.  The Surface Engineering team is accountable for all Facilities and Sub-Sea engineering outcomes with this role providing dedicated maintenance and reliability engineering expertise to analyze and enhance asset performance.  This role specifically supports the Trinidad & Tobago assets, however is part of, and supported by, the broader Surface Engineering team within International Operations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Analysis metrics associated equipment health and performance, specifically as it relates to maintenance of equipment, to understand gaps and define improvement opportunities
  • Monitoring of maintenance strategy outcomes to understand emerging risks/changes - ccontinuous improvement of localised maintenance strategies based on maintenance outcomes, safety and reliability learnings, industry learnings etc
  • Support internal/external performance metrics and benchmarking to understand equipment and maintenance performance relative to peer groups; drive gaps closure scope and improvements
  • Analyses life of plant, equipment and infrastructure and determine equipment performance assumptions based on the production plan - supports Operations and Engineering teams with inputs for budget definition (cost and production risks)
  • Analyze execution performance metrics to identify and understand gaps/opportunities with respect to execution outcomes (operating standards, procedures, work instructions, planning, compliance, priority of deliver, reporting/close-out, quality
  • Champions conditioning monitoring program – ensuring oversight across execution and management to identified equipment issues

Duties and Responsibilities Cont.

  • Leads root cause analysis and “failure type” reviews (e.g.5 Whys, FMECA) of plant, equipment and non-process infrastructure based on noncompliance to planned reliability or unpredicted failures.
  • Support analysis of end-to-end work processes, master data, work instructions to identify inefficiencies in work execution and coordinates opportunities for improved business outcomes.
  • Support identification and prioritization of maintenance related issues resulting in intolerable production impacts and/or large inefficient maintenance spend
  • Responsible for understanding equipment targets to ensure these are aligned with system targets as a basis for asset management
  • Responsible for the monitoring of adherence to maintenance processes and recommending key improvement and changes against asset specific requirements  - applying as required
  • Develops and maintains portfolio of prioritized Maintenance improvement initiatives; working with stakeholder groups to implement
  • Initiates and approves Master Data requests for an area an Operation / area of accountability.
  • Facilitates updates to maintenance procedures, work instructions and control systems coding where relevant

Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in core Engineering Discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Rotating Equipment, Process & Instrumentation) or a related field. Relevant experience in lieu of a degree may be considered
  • Post-Graduate studies in Asset Management or Reliability/Maintenance Engineering advantageous
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations and maintenance type role systems, preferably in the oil and gas industry or a related field
  • Application of reliability techniques applicable to asset management (FMEA, RCA, FTA, Systems Analysis, Spares Analysis)
  • Proficiency in integration and analysis of SAP EAM (CMMS) data
  • Proficiency in interpreting P&IDs, single line diagrams and technical manuals
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and make sound decisions under pressure
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with diverse stakeholders and conveying technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment
